Why not double enlightened time in weekend?

I think this would be great for people who have no time during working days
"I still do not understand why I followed the advice of Captain Rana to bring the villagers of Bleakrock into safety. We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. Now my home village is in shambles, the houses burning, the invaders feasting.I swear every day to Shor that after Molag Bal has been defeated, I will hunt down the invaders and restore peace in Bleakrock and drink my mead with my friends at the market place".PC-EU

You can save enlightenment from Thursday/Friday and use it during the weekend.

This will come soon enough. Like SWTOR with their Double XP weekends to lure people back to the game.

It's automatic, you can save up to 3 days (or more perhaps) enlightenment. If you don't play on Thursday-Friday, you can earn 1200k exp with enlightenment on Saturday.

Yeah except I really don't pay for a game to *not* play it. I think enlightenment is lame. i suppose I just misunderstand it completely.

You did :) Doesn't matter if you play or not, you get same amount of extra enlightenment every day.

There are many ways they can use enlightenment bonuses to draw in players and cash. Double enlightenment weekends are a good idea.

I also think they could make some $ by selling enlightenment potions in the crown store. 100k of enlightenment (1 CP worth) in a potion would sell VERY well. You'd still have to earn the xp but you could earn an extra CP per potion this way. I'm not a huge fan of xp boosts sold through the store, but since they've said they're adding them anyway, something like this would be a good addition.

Like redspecter23 says: Because they will sell enlightenment boosts in the CS.

I would be surprised to see enlightenment potion. It's 300% boost to experience. There are plenty of people who would but 10% experience boost potions :)

Unfortunately when given regular bonuses such as 'double X on weekend' people don't tend to see it as a bonus, but rather as 'only get half X during the week'. It is the classic glass half empty syndrome.
If you can be anything, be kind.

For whatever reason, I always become "enlightened" in PvP after about an hour of being in Cyrodil. It definitely makes me happier while PvPing to know I am making a little extra CP xp.

And yes it is "real" enlightenment, after I have already grinded my daily amount in PvE, and it goes away if I zone over to PvE land. It is clearly not intended, but I think they should consider making it a permanent PvP bonus.

Yeah, sooner or later they will start making "lots of enlightment for everyone for a limited period of time" events. Just a matter of time, I expect...

One fun twist would be giving only people who are below a certain c-point amount extra enlightment, help them catch up a bit to older players...
