XP nerfs & champion points

I've been grinding with my vr14 character in a certain vr10 location. When grinding in this particular area earlier today & since the release of 1.6 patch. 414xp was awarded for killing an individual npc, when not enlightened.
Tonight I upgraded elemental expert from 5 to 6 in the apprentice tree. Now the xp from a kill in the same zone has dropped from 414xp to 310xp. Does anyone know if the skill tree effects xp rates? Or have we had another xp nerf on the sly?

Reverted elemental expert back to 5 points & it made no difference to the xp amount dropped.

Govalon✭✭✭✭I am pretty sure I have been getting 300-something xp in VR10 zones after they nerfed craglorn mobs to give 100. I have no idea why you have been getting more.0 -
GaldorP✭✭✭✭✭Are the monsters you hunted in that spot stronger than regular monsters maybe so they give extra XP in all zones compared to the standard XP value of the zone?
In VR 10 Bangkorai, all regular monsters on the main map will grant 310 XP each and it has been like that since the release of Update 6. Only stronger monster variants like a Daedroth or a Gargoyle, for example, will give slightly more.
So it sounds to me like the VR 10 spot you mention was either bugged and gave too much XP in general for a VR 10 zone (414 XP per mob was the normal value for standard monsters in VR 11 and VR 13 Craglorn in Update 5) or the monsters you hunted there counted as "stronger" monsters but ZOS changed that now and they just count as standard monsters that grant only the regular XP reward of 310 XP.
Edit: One more thing: If your character wasn't VR 14 before, you would get more XP as well, as VR 14 characters already get a partial XP penalty in VR 10 zones. They get the full penalty for anything VR 9 or lower (which is what currently reduces the grinding options for VR 14 chars to VR 10 zones and Craglorn though XP in all Craglorn content I know of has been reduced by about 65%).Edited by GaldorP on March 15, 2015 2:14PM0 -

Were you grouped with anyone? If you are two people 414xp becomes 455xp or about 500xp if you have the pledge of Mara rings. If you are three or more people you get 310-341xp per kill depending on whether you are grouped or not.
You were probably just hit by the incredibly horrible xp system ESO has, which dissuades you from grouping more than two people since you lose 25% of the xp per kill. Cuss you know, gods forbid you group up with more than one person in an MMO.... ( ._.)0 -

GaldorP✭✭✭✭✭XP values from standard monsters (for VR 14 characters), without Enlightenment, without group bonus, without Pledge of Mara:
VR 10 main map: 310 XP
VR 10 solo delve: 216 XP
Craglorn: 144 XP
VR 9 or lower main map: 124 XP
VR 9 or lower solo delve: 86 XP
VR 10 public dungeon: 61 XP
VR 9 or lower public dungeon: 24 XP
Stronger monsters (daedroth, gargoyle, storm atronach, werewolf, champion, etc.) will give a bit more than the standard value of the zone.
Characters that aren't VR 14 yet will get more XP (VR 14 characters get a partial XP penalty for VR 10 monsters and the full penalty for monsters of VR 9 or lower).
The only change I've noticed that happened after the release of Update 6 is that Craglorn XP got nerfed for instances in Craglorn as well and not just the main map (that happened with this hotfix):0 -
