So the black cat event today had a bit of a MAJOR snafu because only x amount of players can exist in any one phase, most of the players trying to find the black cat were not even able to see him let alone talk to him for that final password "Friday Funday" to win.
In my instance, folks were very quick to dash over to the final location but ended up blobbing around because we just couldn't see the black cat. Though I wouldn't say that any one of them would have won; In my case, I took a guess with some elimination (cat had been next to a Vulkhel Guard, then next to Tanzelwil ayleid ruins, then inside of Shattered Grove) so I waited while on the Isle of Contemplation for about 10 minutes (I took a guess and stood around). Black Cat's final location. Now I probably should have known that if I hadn't seen him every time ZOS showed a hint locale that I should have jumped out of Auridon and back in simply to try changing instances but I figured he was in a sort of forced solo instance, but that would just make it less likely for other players to land in the same instance (not to mention it would probably be next to impossible to force a change into the same instance as the black cat given all the players already locked to his instance because of the event).
Now I may sound like I am complaining (which I am), but I ultimately decided to post this in the first place in hopes that the next time an event like this is planned, ZOS will take into consideration that most of any maps player population is being split among separate instances. (In this event, most of the player base was technically not able to even participate.)
Anyways, Congrats to who ever won the event.
