ZoS, maybe you guys should remove a few more deer from Cyrodiil.

They need a completely separate server for PvP, instead of trying to run thousands of PvE instances, tens of thousands of players, and PvP all at once on the same server.

I'm concerned for the general server stability with the 17th fast approaching. Dropping items into the bank is hit by server lag, repairing gear messages are delayed to server lag by minutes. When the population goes through the roof, I really don't think there are enough server resources to handle it.

This is going to give returning players a bad taste. Please do whatever you can for stability and resources as you rarely get a second chance to impress, and you will never get a third.

They have new servers now, for consoles.

They should remove all PVE from Cyrodiil and then add back things one at a time if the servers handle it .

Even though I am not playing pvp in this game, agreed. Was one of the big annoyances in gw2 world vs world when pve elements were introduced, from time to time.

I'm more concerned with the mega server general performance, not the performance of one particular instance. Things are rocky as they are without the huge population increase coming next week.

They have shown that the megaserver technology that they are using scales.

They will probably have additional server capacity on the NA and EU PC/Mac megaservers for about a month after ESOTU launches. This additional capacity could be the console megaserver hardware, for all we know. Since they need a console megaserver, but they don't need a BIG console megaserver right now, it would make sense. The 'huge population increase' will decline and become more steady over the next few weeks, leaving them more than enough time to reclaim the XBOX and PS4 megaserver hardware in time for beta.

If they don't end up using the console hardware temporarily, they can easily rent server boxes for a while. It is possible that they did this for the April 2014 launch.

Well whatever is currently going on there are noticeable issues. Everyone I play with has noticed the longer login times, longer character loading, etc especially at peak times since 1.6. This coupled with zones breaking along with other instances which I experienced personally.

If they had additional resources to deploy I would have thought they would be deployed already. Having played at launch and experienced the mega server under great stress, I'm already seeing similar server performance and we're no where close to the peak we will see after the 17th.

When returning players see the server performing like it was at launch (which had until 1.6 gotten much better) it's not going to be pretty. If it results in broken instances and server downtime it's going to send a very bad message.

I want the 17th to go as well as possible, but I'm getting a bad feeling about the server'a ability to handle it.

Who else believes the console launch will be as bad as it was on the PC last year?
