Most to least useful hierlings post 1.6?

I am curious what other players think as to the most and least useful hirelings? I am thinking about leveling up a profession on a character mostly on the hireling. Thanks for your advice.

Most is provisioning - you get a chance for rare purple ingredients.

Least is the rest - chance of legendary tempers seems to have been reduced, certainly less than you get from refining and writ rewards.

IMO Provisioning is the only one that's still really useful. You can take the others for raw mats and chance of purple tempers, but don't count on gold ones.

edit: scratch that, I forgot how many Potency runes I obtained from hirelings. Enchanting's useful too, even without Kuta.

OK, Provisioning as stated above is good, but so is Enchanting. At least you get a chance to gain a potency stone. But your not going to get Kuta's from them anymore.

Equipment Hirelings, I will have to say that they are not as useful as before, but they can still be beneficial to gain Green, Blue and Purple Tempers. In one week, with Gold ones still come, just way less often than before.

One Week with 4 L2 Equipment Crafting Hirelings and 3 L3 Eq Crafting Hirelings netted me:

    27 Greens
    23 Blues
    26 Purples
    5 Golds

Since i never upgrade to Gold anyway, this works for me. The trick is, and really has always been, if you get Equipment Crafting Hirelings, get a bunch of them, but you only need to go to L2 (L12 on the Craft Skill to unlock). This way you have a good chance to gain enough Purple Tempers in a couple of weeks to make a full set of gear.

Alchemy doesn't have a hireling. Enchanting hirelings aren't a reliable way of getting Kuta anymore, writs are the best.

...are you actually talking about writs here?

Provisioning is definitely the most useful one right now IMO. It's one of only 2 ways to ever get the ingredients you need to make purple food/drinks (the other way is by doing writs).

I'd agree that Enchanting is probably next on the list, because I've always found it hard to get a good supply of appropriately-leveled potency runes just by grabbing nodes.

The other 3 are basically the same in terms of usefulness. If you've got a bunch of alts, I still think it's worth getting all of the hirelings because it's a steady supply of raw mats for refining. If you're only talking about 1 or 2 characters, then it's probably not worth bothering with these hirelings IMO.
