Ok, whats with the new Exploit that perma locks peoples bars?

Just had some EP do this multiple times to me, Can't use any ability, can't block/dodge ect ect..its like i'm perma stunned only i can move around..occasionally it kicks me for excessive messaging in game or some BS like that.

If it was a one time thing it'd be something, but having it happen 3 times back to back to the same EP players is a little stupid.

happens to me (I am EP) however I don't cry about it being players from other factions.
I assume it has something to do with weapon swap or a CC break that didn't break all the way just made me movable but not useful...

But hey Blame EP - its what you're good at.

Happened to me while i wasn't being attacked/attacking anyone. There was a group of EP and DC in the area, my bar randomly greyed out. I don't blame EP though, its ZOS fault for putting out garbage patches time and time again that only seem to make performance worse.

Seems to be something to do with being on a horse.

I had this happen after I res'd from a death and was riding back to the action. I realized I couldn't dismount, tried sneak while mounted, tried the esc. key, and /reloadui. NOTHING worked so I ran into the fray and was of course knocked off my horse. Luckily I survived that, and was able to regain my bars availability.

Tab out of the game and back in generally fixes it.

I used to get this bug along time ago, it's somehow back with a vengeance in 1.6.

Other things that could cause this

bug where you can't use skills until you dodge/roll
bug where you are stuck sprinting and don't know it so you can't use some skills until you hit shift
bug where you are randomly locked onto a target like a keep wall or siege.

Unfortunately I don't know of anything that causes it repeatedly like this.

rolling doesent help as it is supressed by that issue as well, nor does open the skillscreen, bp or any other window help sprinting is possible but doesent help anything the qb is locked with that nice lock icon beeing unable to be switched nor any ability to be used and its not the target lock issue (wich is not even a bug - the bug is actually that you have to lock the stucklocked target again to unlock it so you must have a clue what you have tab targeted :P)

If this is any consolation to those factions feeling targeted by some of the posters in this thread, I got this same bug doing a dolmen in PVE land.

I really doubt it's the machinations of whiley pvpers.

I don't know which is worse. Bug or exploit, it's pretty bad either way, and it shouldn't be happening a year after release.

I get the exact same thing while I am stealing everything in Wayrest. I hit ESC a couple dozen times, bash the keyboard with my face then it starts to work again about 43.72% of the time. When it happens in PVP I am usually on my horse s I will run into a scrum and jump around on my horse hoping to distract the enemy until someone knocks me off

I had this happen to me when I made a change to an addon I was working on last night and had to disable it and reloadui to fix it. My addon was in essence stuck in an infinite loop which locked up my UI.

It wouldn't surprise me if there are people using addons that are either outdated or even updated but only by the author or whoever is taking care of them updating the version without making changes in the code.

Is anyone experiencing this who doesn't use addons?

I beginning to wonder if being rezzed kicks off some kind of memory leak or other bug.
This happended in PVP and PVE after death.

Don't be so quick to cry exploit. I had this happen to me a few times in dungeons in Craglorn, no EP to be seen

I assume that much like the horse stuttering bug, the spell resist bug, the multiple ulti drop bug, the nirnhoned bug, the door bug, the radiant destruction bug, and the no group/alliance markers bug, the I-can't-use-a-single-****ing-skill bug is just another of the exciting new features of 1.6.

The bugs/exploits/broken skills/broken passives/lag/crashes/freezes continue to get worse as the game gets older. I have never seen anything like this in my life and I have been around since the original EQ.

Locked skillbars are also often related to the game thinking you are still 'running'. In my case mashing SHIFT a few times fixes this. This happens even when I'm not running at all, but hey this is ESO so yay.

I've had this happen to me multiple times. There is one thing that works very well to solve it - eat a food item, you will be off your horse instantly.

Considering this is happening outside of PVP as well I don't think it's an exploit being used by players against other players.

Not unless the NPC's have gone skynet on us and started using the same exploits.

EP is so good at it we even do it to players in PvE.

Hell I am EP and other EP players do it to me for laughs.
We all get together in one giant TeamSpeak and laugh about it.

In fact we exploit it so well that we are also the cause of all lag -
Oh and if your trials team wipes, EP - we caused the boss to be OP.

We are also the reason Sanctum is hard.
Remember the main quest line amulet of kings? and you would get stuck in that instance.

I suspect it's unintended. I play yellow. I sometimes notice lag and oddities like skillbar lockups when fighting blue, but not often. When fighting red, however, both lag and all these 'bugs' are far more common. While it could be an exploit, I believe it's more likely caused by red's tendency to travel in packs of "every single red on the server."

Blue and yellow gather in groups. Red's in much bigger groups, spamming AoE in a game where the AoE caps just got removed. I'd look at that before deciding there is some secret way to cheat.

Happens to me frequently when I get on my horse (PvE or PvP). Can't dismount, and weapon swap has the little lock symbol.

Only can dismount if I am near some water (or get dismounted by being attacked) or relog.

edit, after some testing I noticed that the little lock appears while sprinting or galloping, I think it has to do with the game not recognizing the fact that you are no longer sprinting or galloping.

Happened to me last night really badly after I bought 'multiple' stones rather than 1 by 1.
Luckly someone remembered the post about this and told me. /reloadUI worked but won't be selecting the 'buy multiple' option again until its fixed.
