Vet XP PVE - Something is wrong here.

Yesterday I was PVE questing in the V4 zone with my V4 NB.
I was in grp with a friend, who was playing on his V13..

Kill XP was ok for both of us. But turning in a quest, awarded me 3700 XP, and he got around 20.000 XP.

Now, this is what bothers me. We both need 1 million XP to level up, but he gets the quest xp 5 times faster than I do.

What the hell?

3700 to me and 20.000 to him, would only be fair, if He needed 5 times more XP to level up,
or I needed 5 times less.

How is it fair that getting from V4 to V5 takes 5 times longer than from V13 to V14?

Yes.

I've been doing quests in my V5 zone and enlightened boosts them a ton.

Enlightenment shouldn't make a difference at all to EXP should it? Only CP gain. IE if 1 CP usually equals 400,000 exp, with enlightenment that progress is made by earning only 100,000 exp.

I dont see any XP effect from being enlightend - only on the CP gain!

do you know when you v13 friend aquired the quest? i had a quest started prior to the xp changes done to vetlvls that granted 38k xp wich was the old value for quest above vet8. wich was nice as it was a 152k xp for the CP system :P

He cannot tell the truth since you cannot get more then 16k for a quest no matter what.

In fact if you are of a too high vet level you get a lot less xp for low vet level quests.

For example those 16k quests become 12k when you are 4 vet levels abovecthe zone you are in.

Why the hell should I or he lie??
All I know is that we were doing dungeons and dolmens, and we had a quest to turn in, maybe from grp dungeon,
and he said "nice xp" when he turned in, and I asked how much, and it was around 20K.

Enlightenment isn't true 'rested XP' it affects CP XP only, not leveling XP.

I asked my friend again about the xp he got. It was around 15K not 20K I must have heard wrong.

It still does not change, that questing in the V4 zone, a V4 gets 3700 xp, and a V13 gets 15K.
So in the same zone, and both need the same amount of XP to level, the V13 gets more than 4 times better xp for quests.

most addons that show xp gain show in fact cp gain so whether he realized it or not he must have been enligthened and therefor got the *4 multiplier

It's a carry over from back when it took more XP's (and VP's prior to that) to level a higher level character.

This way it effectively gave both of you an effective percentage of your next level when you turned in the quest.

Are you doing before and after comparisons of XP's (XP bar) or seeing it on something like FTC?

(I believe FTC is reporting the enlightened XP's, which don't count towards leveling)

3700 xp huh? You only need to do about 270 more of those quests to gain a single veteran level. YAY!

Leveling 1-50 is enough in this MMO.
Silver and gold ought to be optional, and Award much better xp.
Unless you grind a ton of mobs on the side, you literally have to clear every vet zone to get that 1 million xp.
It is ridiculous and way too much xp to get to V14 as it is now.

It's not that it's too much xp to get to v14, it's that they didn't rly alter the quest reward numbers that well ...
Honestly in my opinion they should've removed vet ranks by now, to hell with anyone that might have an issue with scaled down armor and / or mats, just do it

The real problem IMO was that above VR10 this game becomes a 1990s group-or-die affair, there is no reasonable way for someone to level solo/duo which may players prefer doing, especially I would suggest ESO players who came to thins game from TES solo games.

Yes, it's an MMO so group content is important but no game released this century has survived with forced-grouping to level except for Japanese games like FFXI and FFXIV; there's a reason for that.
