Ledgermain is much more fun as a Nightblade

My main is a VR 14 Templar Tank/Healer and a blast to play but I am having a blast skirting the edges of the law with my 20+ Redgaurd Nightblade. There is a town in Glenumbra, Crosswych that is under the domination of the Red Rook criminal gang when the quest chain there begins. That means there were no guards to stop me from pilfering everything in sight. The Red Rooks never stood a chance against my Nightblade. Her crime spree in Crosswych made the red Rooks look like a bunch of amatuers.

Unfortunately, the town reverts back to Daggerfall Covenant control at the end of the quest chain and somehow, the guards have a memory of my nefarious activities even though they were not there or in charge at the time :( But it was fun while it lasted! :)

I've noticed most of the best areas for thieving are those that are in quests, typically quests with small villages or castles where there's little or no guards.

Just doing the Allistaire Castle questline in Stormhaven, I must have come across a few dozen chests, night stands, cabinets, trunks, etc, which were almost completely unguarded. These were owned by high-ranking NPC's, the Dame's house, the General's house, etc.

Ironic isn't that the Red Rooks are the providers of the Thieves Sanctuary in Glenumbra, isn't it? (according to the loading screen when entering that place it is)

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well, the problem is - if you still have a citizens who saw you, you will get the bounty. If you will kill them - bounty will increase. And if you have a bounty, your quest is blocked. AND you don't have guard in the city as you mentioned - just the bandits :) So you have to go to normal city and pay the bounty. I got there once when thought the same , but had to go back to city and cleanup the standing otherwise could not continue with quest. So be carefull. :)

I paid a small bounty and went straight to Stormhaven. I killed a couple of sheep that belonged to a shepherd (I was hungry!). Now that got me in real hot water. The bounty followed me to Stormhaven.

I can still say with assurance that criminal activity in ESO is much more fun, profitable, productive and effective as a nightblade.

It's called "legerdemain", from old French "léger de main" which translates to "sleight of hand". Please do an old grammar policeman (the word I wanted to use is prohibited by forum rules) the favour of not brutalizing the language...

hate to break the news to ya there Tex but, as far as legerdemain ability goes, NBs are no more effective than any other class; Citizens can see through cloak, Guards ignore it, Invis potions last 7x longer and don't break on steal. NBs have zero advantage.

So with full Medium armor (7 pcs), a 3 pc Nightshade set (VR10 necklace and two daggers which are Legendary I might add), and the Legerdemain "Improved Hiding" passive at rank 3 (30% sneak cost reduction @ skill rank 11), I can now sneak without a Stamina cost...soooo Awesome

Was gonna say the same; considering the only thing taller than my Altmer Templar is a Nord she doesn't exactly paint the most graceful sneak there ever was... but a small Khajiit NB under cloak on the other hand just works wonders for immersion, even if you know the responses are the same :)
