Incentives for doing group content at V14

So I really like the pledge daily idea. This gives an incentive for people to do group content and foster an environment where people can group together and make new friendships or join new guilds.

I wish that there were incentives for other group daily activities such as Craglorn questing, using the LFG tool, DSA, and PVP grouping.
I'm kind of a small deal!

There was for the first few days of patch 1.6, then they nerfed the exp from the daily in Craglorn and now no one does them any more (again!)

Undaunted exp/keys got players doing the same dungeon on the same day and it works. If there was a extra daily bonus to ONE of the daily quests in Craglorn (different one each day) then maybe people will go back there.

We need more dungeons to run IMO. Every Zone in the game should have included a Dungeon. Just because it's a smaller questing area it could have still had one. They also need to change up the pledges. Every Sunday it's COH, change it so that all pledges are different. That will at least help mix things up since we don't have any new ones. It's boring running the same one over and over again for the pledge.

The problem with "Incentives for doing group content at V14" is that ZoS always seems to target the wrong people with these incentives.

ZoS' current strategy seems to be torturing solo players (both casual and hardcore) until they "group or die".... or just plain quit. How do they do this?

    1) Making end-game content virtually impossible to complete solo, e.g. Veteran Pledges and Trials.

    2) Locking up the best items behind group only activities. This WIse Mage set is my favorite example of this.

    3) Making an entire content "zone" called Craglorn which is brutally unpleasant for solo players, but we try anyway because that's where all the VR11-14 quests are. Several of those quests, of course, can't even be solo'd BY DESIGN.

So with all these "incentives" to group, it must be solo players' fault for being stubborn, right?

NO. Plenty of solo players, myself included, would love to group! Many of us DO group when we're invited or the LFG tool actually works. The real problem is that the people who group naturally don't really have any incentive to pull other players in. I think there are a number of reasons for this, including MMO culture itself, but I could only speculate. At any rate, it would be great if ZoS found a way to motivate "groupers" to proactively recruit solo players to join their in-game activities.

Alternatively, maybe there needs to be a mechanism in the game to throw people together randomly, so that all the social issues are by-passed. Great multi-player games like Counter-Strike and Quake have been doing this for years! I love games like this because you just hop onto a server and the grouping is (mostly) automated. For example, what if you entered an instance like Aetherian Archives, and the server just stuck you in a queue until 11 people showed up, first-come-first-served? Obviously the mobs and mechanics would have be scaled for this scenario, but so what? "Dance with the one that brung ya" is what I say!

Yeah, I know MMO purists would gripe about screwing up the whole Tank-Healer-DPS thing, but maybe it's time to retire that old paradigm in favor of something more fluid and organic. Some of the MOST FUN I've had in this game was the come-as-you-are Craglorn grinding groups of the past, where it was easy to join a huge gang of strangers because people would just invite you (probably had something to do with maximizing XP), but if they didn't you could just run along with them anyway. You would think ZoS would ENCOURAGE grouping like this, but NO they killed it, instead! PvP could benefit from a similar treatment, by the way. What if Cyrodiil had an automated "zerg forming" mechanism that instantly teleported you to the front line and grouped you with other players from your faction? It would be like Counter-Strike with swords and spells.... a lot more fun than the Horse Simulator we have now.

Tl;DR: If you can't get groups to form for everyone who needs them, just make grouping automated and mandatory.
