Poll on Capped Experience

Ok two different propositions:

a) A CP per day cap at (let's say 25 CP per day) the point is that it is large enough that typical non exploiter players will rarely if ever see the cap.

b) A system where CP is really easy to gain from whatever activity you like to do (pvp, rp, crafting, pve, grinding, dungeons, fishing etc...) We'll say 25 CP (or whatever Zos' intended progression rate is) can be earned in an hour doing practically any activity you can imagine....and then once you reach that intended daily progression, you are capped and can no longer earn CP until the next day.

I am not a fan of daily caps on my EXP gain, but the fact that we have people getting very close to 500 CP now worries me. We get so little EXP from dungeons, delves, trials, and quests that grinding is really the only viable method of getting CP right now. They need to start giving more EXP for these things, and also give us EXP for crafting after hitting max leveling in any profession.

Please note that the numbers used are just examples perhaps option a) need to be 10 or 100 and perhaps option b) needs to be 5 or 10.

First lets just determine if the concepts are palatable...then if so and Zos willing the numbers can be debated...

edit: change a), b) to lower case cause the evil smiley A), B)

I voted this because ZOS need to provide more XP in a VARIETY of content, not just group-or-die stuff in Craglorn, but there needs to be a daily cap as well because already we're seeing the vast disparity between the 'haves' and 'have nots' that ZOS claimed they were going to avoid.

Fact is right now, a new VR1 will never 'compete' with those with a VR14 when 1.6 landed, EVER, the longer it goes on the worse it'll get.

If you want a cap, this should be weekly or monthly (as many wrote in your previous pool and other threads).
A daily cap makes no sense at all.

I think you are confusing me with someone else I've never done a previous capped cp poll...that said weekly or monthly also is fine.

There is no CAP, so their monitoring tools can track\SEE someone getting more then 25 CP a day. This allows them to track and find out what the hell the player is doing. That's how the found and fix the current 'exp' exploits. Sure those players got a bit of a jump start 30-50 CP points in a few days (+70 starting CP points)

Plus they don't even know what they want the 'normal' CP points earned per day should be. They are monitoring and reviewing everything.

If a player wants to go nuts and grind 24/7, they should be able to, but any EASY spots will be removed. (Like the Craglorn daily's)

Yep, I confused it, sorry. :p
I read this post written by you, infact I was quite surprised of a second poll on a really similar matter by the same author. :)

Anyway, I think weekly or monthly is better so a player is free to decide his/her playtime.
A different curve for diminishing returns and/or the chance to accumulate enlightenment (not only 3 days) are other interesting options.
    They could also work together.

A cap would have been a good idea as a precaution against exploits and imbalances in general. In the long run, though, it shouldn't be necessary.
Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

Just do the math. Those with more time to play will always have CP point advantage and the gap will grow further every day. It is a BAD DESIGN. Look at a game like guild wars 2. Someone can stop playing that game for months and return to the game with stats still on-par with other players. This is a very desirable trait which has clearly paid off, considering it is the most complimented design element and the developers claim it accounts for their still steadily increasing player numbers.

Any system that lets a player invest more time than others and cumulatively gain an advantage with no cap (or an absurd cap as we have now) is flawed. All it will accomplish is to further segregate the player population and make the game less attractive to new or casual players.

I appreciate that Zenimax was trying to find an alternative to incrementally increasing the VR rank, but the CP system is actually worse. Zenimax should have added more variety and character options as a form of progression, not a perpetual carrot.

Ahh no worries I didn't think the other poll was good...I think mine has bias also but maybe less...poll design is tricky and interpretation can be also...my guess is with that other poll many people thought the maximum cap the poll offered was to restrictive....but then on page 2 or 3 or that same thread (where I quoted it from) it is being used to state essentially that most players hate caps...I disagree ...I think players are OK with caps that are reasonable and stop exploiters but minimally inhibit non-exploiters.....I mean really even now there is a daily cap....its just not hardcoded....and the only way to get beyond that is to find a great grind spot or exploit/bot etc...in a very extreme sense 3600 is hard cap for exploiters currently ...

the time frame isn't necessarily important other mmo accomplish the same effect by raising levels every expansion....which some one else suggested similar for here, like 360 cap now then 720 for next content etc...
