@ZOS Please STOP listening to players TOO MUCH

Dear Zos,

First of all, i want to thank you for giving us a game to play for years. Thank you so much that you made it a very awesome game, and you are trying all your best to make it even better. My support is on you and to this game that i have played since its launch, i proudly say, I LOVE THIS GAME!

For someone like me who love this game, i would do what i could do to help this game from any harmful thing, which these days, i refer to "Players who want changes for themselves". For almost a year now, the game has been very awesome at serving its main purpose, to entertain. And it keeps on getting better because of the efforts of ZOS. Everything about the game have been properly thought of, we can see that every aspect was studied very much. Of course there will be bugs along the way, there will always be a balancing issues, but ZOS you are the best people who know it and can solve it, we are players only, and take note that players tend to think of any advantages in any game for themselves.

At first, listening to players is very good. But as time went on, players saw this oppurtunity to gain advantage over other players who arent very vocal or arent visiting the forum at all. They made use of complain threads, they are in groups, or even a guild wanting to change something in the game for their very own agenda. And it seems that ZOS is listening too much. Anything "too much" is very harmful. Please be informed ZOS, these people who are very active in this forum dont even make a good percentage of your total players in game. Most of them dont have time to visit this forum, because there are just too much fun to have playing the game.

I paid for this game, i play it a lot, and i want this game to run by noone but ZOS. I dont want to play other players' game. Actually it is not just me, more players are like me, but thyre not here in forum, maybe a few of them. ZOS please stop listening too much, it is destroying the game. You cant satisfy all these players. If you try to satisfy group A, group B will complain. If you try to change a bit for group B, group A complains. How about group C, D, and many more? It is a never-ending process to try. Let them just play your game, you have a brilliant group of people that have made this game awesome, and it will continue to get better. Just dont listen too much to outside noise.

This forum has turned into a PVP, dont be blinded by what appears to be a majority of players, theres no such thing as majority in this forum as your total players werent here. You know better than any player, you are a company! Now if you listened to them, please listen to me too, and start to stop listening too much.

Thank you, and keep up the good work.
It was always a job well done from you guys!

I have the same concerns @TagaParti. ZOS spends so much time trying to appease the very, VERY vocal minority that ESO has already suffered because of it.

There's no way to actually get this information but I would love to know how many of the players that complained about the Vet rank system are actually STILL playing ESO. ZOS has put all this time, money, energy into a system that was designed for many players who are likely not even playing anymore.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

Like the guild summit. I personaly believe guild summits are pointless cause all those guild be big or small care about is making the game better for them and not the community. But my humble opinion.

Ya don't listen to players . We don't know what we're talking about . You've done an incredible job making this the number one MMO with the most subscribers and least amount of complaints . Listen to this thread .

The main problem I see here is that most of the complainers are PvPer, and they are way more vocal than the PvEers.

I think Zenimax needs to start separating PvP and PvE, Guild Wars did this. In Guild Wars if there was a skill that was balanced in PvE but unbalanced in PvP, they wouldn't just nerf it because it was unbalanced in PvP, they would make a PvP version of that skill. So when you logged into PvP that skill would covert to it's PvP version until you went back to PvE.

Going to be really interesting to see how long it lasts on console if they even get a fraction of the lag we are getting in Cyrodiil.

I agree with OP this is a concern ....most players, maybe all, even those of us who genuinely want to see the game improve, are biased...with bias comes poor decision...players should be listened to and their concerns understood...but not all of it needs to happen...this ends up with too many chiefs not enough indians with not enough hands to juggle everything in an well organized focused fashion.....would much rather see Zos pick a focused direction and then be the very best at that focus....jack of All trades master of none...

One of the coolest castles i ever saw was in ireland...it was purchased by a guy who did 1 thing and did it exceptionally well...the castle, which he kept fully staffed year round to maintain everything in immaculate condition should he decide to schedule a hunting visit on a whim (the hunting grounds cover an entire mountain and it has beautiful gardens) ....so during the whole year he might spend 4 weeks there...ultimately he gifted it to the government...so it was more or less his vacation castle...what did he do really well you might ask? He made Tabasco sauce...he didn't try to make ketchup, or BBQ sauce or salsa, or chimichanga sauce or mustard ...instead he focused on doing 1 thing so well that he blew the competition away.

MMO is the same way...pick what you want your target audience to be and do it better than anyone else...oh and make sure the target audience is viable for profits....

Probably a lot less lag on the console version. They won't have to deal with any addons causing problems and they will be able to remove most of the anti botting and hacking code since consoles are much more controlled environments.

So very true... honestly even back in beta before the vet zone nerfs, and before the live version nerfs later after that once the game was out for a few months, the vet content was not exactly "hard", and I brought two nightblades, two dragonknights, and one sorc through them before the live version nerfs after the tidal wave of forum whines encouraged it to happen :(. That turned the vet zones from needing to half-pay-attention to another lvl 1-50 effortless slog at that point.

Same thing is true of the huge vocal minority that also complained about the User Interface having any standard features like a minimap or combat log, and insisted it was intuitive even though it's poorly laid-out and virtually every player who is above level 40 probably has at least 5-10 addons installed to make it usable and add a few basic pieces of functionality like, oh, say, seeing how much health you have on your health bar instead of just a very largely-stepped visual, or to make the guild store useful with addons like AwesomeGuildstore. Time after time these people complained, and ZOS removed more and more of the UI until we arrived at launch with something barely resembling an interface and more of a hindrance to gameplay.

Moral of the story, the OP and you are both 100% spot on @Gidorick. Many people may think they want X but they don't actually realize it would make the game worse for them. Many think Y needs nerfing but they don't look at it in the scope of various gameplay types and class balance as a whole. While user feedback can be helpful, ultimately the developers themselves have to assert a strong direction and do it, rather than reactionarily making tons of changes based on the forum whine of the week.

I probably don't agree with the OP on what should or shouldn't be done by ZOS. Likely with the new champion system at that. But I do agree they need to have their own vision on what the game is going to be and who their target audience is. Right now I think they are all over the place and at the same time maybe getting opposite results than they even intend.

There's no reason on why ZOE can't just undo the difficulty nerfs made to veteran levels, and admit it was a mistake.

The only class that had any trouble in veteran content was NB because of their dreadful surv at that time.

Now now . Just because he's lost all credibility with the PVP community doesn't mean he hasn't stumbled upon som genius we all obviously missed . It's very apparent that once again the game company is the victim here of player folly . Oh those players ...

I TOTALLY agree with this comment! It's exasperating all the skills are being and have been adjusted to cater to PVP side because the PvP'ers are MORE vocal than Pve'ers. Please be considerate to more than half the community here who are PvE'ers . We paid our subscriptions too.

Atleast your subscription comes with playable content.... think again if you think the do everything for PvP... the state of PvP is an absolute joke and it has been since launch... ZoS focuses on more PvE content and doesn't fix crap for the PvP community.... why don't you go into thornblade sometime and see for yourself just how much ZoS looks after the PvPers

I like the idea of separating out the PvE and PvP systems skillwise. It would eliminate some of the complaints where the changes to skills that have been made so far result in differing results for each type of play.

You also need to take care of the lag that overwhelms PvP and impacts PvE.

DK Scrub has a very good point, PvE > PvP since launch you don't believe me?

Try playing in an area with 10+ players in thornblade

Better yet try opening a door for a keep without weapon swap/dodge roll

I think this game has come a long way as well, however I also feel like they don't listen to us enough. If players are taking to the forums it's either because they are looking for information or they are giving feedback. Increasing the veteran ranks was pretty much universally reviled, as was inflating the numbers, but of course those things still happened. Despite what you think, if PvPers got what they wanted there wouldn't be lag in Cyrodiil, and yet it's still as bad as ever. As far as I can tell ZOS does whatever they want regardless of what the players say. Maybe I'm wrong, and I will acknowledge there have been minor concessions, but for the most part all of the important things they haven't budged on.

Consider also that Snipe was buffed for PvE and was the most complained about skill ever after. It still crits for 9k. The only reason complaints about it have died down is because of Jesus Beam taking its place.

@KaneK899ub17_ESO there will always be a new snipe. And it will always ruin PvE when they "fix" it. Whether it's called Bolt Escape, or Reflective Scales, or whatever the flavor of the month is.

The point was it wouldn't have been an issue in the first place had they made separate functions and values for PvP and PvE.

One can hope. Of course, you're right in that everyone always has something to complain about. At least with a separate value system PvErs and PvPers alike won't have to deal with changes to the other side that throw off their area of play, people will still *** but have one less thing to *** about.

Yeah, you got some valid points there, don't you?

If Zenimax would listen to the playerbase, they wouldn't have created the mess called ESO 1.0 (VR leveling) and at least not the CS or other things in 1.6. But they didn't listen.
