So ZOS can have a general idea of what the majority of people think (if it isnt obvious enough already), it would be good to have a poll

Id very much prefer that it was mostly out of combat, utility passives like mount speed, increased gold, greater chest rewards, whatever. It hasnt occured to zos yet that people dont want to grind to be viable or that they dont want to do it for years on end

I think the CP system should be scaled such that the first CP costs little and the 3,600th CP costs a shedload so that the early bits are fun and the latter bits where the return per CP is harder takes longer.

As the whole ES game, good ideas - but poor execution :(

CP´s bound to XP was a bad idea, it should had been achievements. This would limit grinding and actually reward playing this game. I don't have any issues with not gaining achievements (CPs) for Trial content, but I do mind if others that run the same trial all day get 10x the CP´s that I get for playing the games story, while exploring and talking to NPCs.

At one point they have over a few k of CP´s and come into AVA and ruin it for everyone or they demand even more trials since the old are no longer a challenge for them, while we with no CP´s have a hard time surviving in non trial content already :D

I think its quite sad the ZO is trying so hard, but they just have issues executing their good intentions. They are not alone with this however, so many current MMOs are stuck in the same spot.

Wrong button. I *** hate it.

Elder Scrolls is the only game i know that penalizes players for playing their game.

I have completed most of the content, done main quests 8 times on alts etc. etc. etc. . All I have left is grind but when I do it gets nerfed because few folks used exploit to gain 800cp in cyrodill (in effect regular grinding areas like crypts in craglorn got their XP income cut by 3/4)

This is basically the only way to make it work. I mean, they could do some creative things like having a Shadow skill slotted shrouds your character in a dark aura. Or say I only use Green Dragon Blood for the Health/Stam regen boosts, but there's a CP that grants me those buffs whenever I use an Ardent Flame skill. I could feasibly drop the GDB from my bar to slot something else, or keep it to have an easy way to gain those buffs with an on-demand heal. This opens up avenues for new builds while not offering an inherent power advantage.

Tying it to achievements would alienate some players or be difficult to implement. The obvious way would be X amount of achievement points grants Y CP but then PvErs might be forced into PvP and PvPers forced into PvE - something ZOS actively tries to avoid. So you split them, PvE and PvP achievements with some universal ones like "Discover X caves" or "take Y amount of fall damage". Now you've severely limited how many achievements are available to reward CP, so easy achievements end up giving you 20 CP - exploitable with new character rolling since CP are account-wide.

So, you scale CP rewards to the progression tier of achievement. Unlocking the 10k player damage done in Cyrodil achievement gives 1 CP, unlocking the 1million damage done gives 5, etc. Now you've effectively stuck us right back where we were with grinders/hardcore players gaining the big CP rewards in no time. What then? What about new players who would be so far behind the curve they couldn't feasibly reach these achievements in a timely fashion and the players who have them have a significant advantage. In other words, we're right back where we started only instead of with something easy to comprehend and normalize, like exp, it's with achievements which are often totally separate and irrelevant parts of the game. In six months, new players are still unable to compete because the CS is so vertical.

In short, the current issue with CS is that it's incredibly vertical with very powerful bonuses. No amount of fixes to exp rates, grind spots, nor is tying it in with achievements ever going to fix this problem. Literally the only reason anyone has an issue with the current design is because of the power advantages it offers.

i like the concept - the grind to get cps is just more grinding. you should be encouraged to do all things in this game not just which pve grind gives you the most points.

I don't hate the idea of the CP system but I and many of the people I played with think it's too much to ask us to keep playing a game that we built ourselves up to be on top the leader boards only to be handed a game that suddenly makes you feel nerfed, the whole number of champion points should have been taken in to consideration when looking at people's progression. My sub is good for a few more months but unless something changes I doubt I'll be able to enjoy ESO as I don't want to grind old content to get that feeling of progression I had before 1.6.

the champion system makes all things without max xp/h feel wasting time
its linear so its only a time sink and has nothing to do with character individualization

Yeah, it's like launch - feels like beta. Champion System is the new, horrible VR thing NEXT TO the current VR thing. Great job Zenimax.

I like it. They need to adjust xp so that actually doing content is rewarding though.
Other than that, the system offers continued progression at max lvl, similar to other games. I know those who stress out over feeling the need to have them all ASAP will hate it as it feels like a grind especially those in hardcore guilds. But that misses the point of the system. In an ideal world you would never max out the system and at the time you get close to it, it would be due to be expanded.
All content can be done with just 70 CP, why bore myself trying to race to max when I don't need to?
The one glaring issue of course is PvP (as always) likely Battle Spirit at some point will need to mimic having X amount of CP.
