ZOS please listen! A better way to fix CP.

The currently proposed 1 CP per day Enlightenment will be the final nail in the coffin for this being any sort of benefit. New players will be looking at months, even YEARS to catch up with the people that grind, or that were lucky enough early on to get bugged into a huge head start.

There are several problems.
  1. XP (and thus CP) gained through questing and "normal" play has been nerfed so hard that it is nearly useless. I used to get ~35kxp for turning in the average vet quest, now I get between 5-9k. This is unacceptable.
  2. Enlightenment needs to give enough CP so that the average person with a life, job, family, etc. can spend a few hours a day and still get at least a couple points.
  3. A daily cap needs to be implemented regardless so that no matter how much you grind, you can never earn more than twice the amount of CP granted by daily Enlightenment in a 24 hour period.

* I propose that the Daily Enlightenment be set to grant 2 CP.
* I propose a daily cap on the max CP that can be gained per 24 hours be set at 4 CP.
* I propose ALL players have their CP reset to no more than 120.

If you currently have less than 120 CP, this would not affect you. This last point is to reverse the game-balance-breaking damage done by those that exploited the Enlightenment bugs on patch release to grind half a year worth of CP in days.

It seems to me this is the only way to avoid a "CP gap" where new players cannot possibly compete without investing months or years while the grind bots create a monopoly out of PVP which is the main draw for most people to the game.

Otherwise ZOS, you have killed your own baby. If you refuse to correct this you have ended the possibility of competitive fair play, basically making the ability to compete in PVP the last great "loyalty reward," where if you haven't been playing for months/years you will be unable to rival those that have farmed hundreds of CP.

The whole CP system was badly planned and NEEDS a daily cap, and a rollback.

Thanks for listening.

The whole CP system is flawed simply because it's a very vertical progression. Anyone with a 50 point advantage is on a different power tier. No matter how you fix CP gains, this will still be the crux of the problem. New players will be unable to compete given 6 month difference in playtime even with daily/weekly/monthly caps or rollbacks or any other bandaid you slap onto the system. If it were more of a utility/horizontal progression the differences would be much more manageable.

Still, daily, weekly, monthly caps WOULD slow down the grind zombies that must ruin every game they touch long enough for ZOS to figure out something better.

I'm a grind-zombie. I PvP and the only PvE I am willing to do is grind. I agree it shouldn't be any better than questing, dungeons, or PvP, but it's what I have to work with because I have a strong dislike for PvE and PvP is abhorrently slow. Grinding isn't ruining the game, exp gain disparities and CP point gaps will hurt the game quite a bit, though, and so will incredibly slow exp-gains all around. Normalizing and increasing the exp rates and changing the CS to be less vertical, or at least less powerful in terms of points spent are the only real solutions to the issues at the moment. These have their own separate issues, too, though. Honestly, I think CPs being tied to something other than exp would be for the best - but what? Achievement points? This would still alienate a lot of players because so many achievements are tied to a specific area of gameplay - PvP, PvE or exploration.

I think they really should have added champion-system specific content to gain CPs for both areas of gamplay with exploration being apart of both. It would have killed two birds with one stone.

This is not a flaw, this is not a poor design and this intended.... and here is why.

Ppl will scream about the amount of enlightenment and CP gained... that gives ZoS the go ahead to say "at the players request to increase the amount of enlightenment and CP gains, we will be introducing enlightenment pots in the crown store" so in essence its going to be pay us more suckers!!! And ppl will be happy to do so. ZoS makes it look like its the player that want it and think we are stupid

    You forget something sadly :(

Lets say, there is a cap of 5 a day. Then the grinders get 5 every day and after a few hundred days they are maxed out. People who now play less will still face a huge disadvantage and are forced to never skip a day else they miss out 5 CP. The system you want is in place at WS and its horrible for Casuals that cant do the daily cap every time, but also new players who try to catch up.

Not the amount of CP we get is the problem, its the way how we get them. Right now playing the game is not rewarding but grinding dungeons or Craglorn is. This needs a fix and as many said before, CP´s bound to achievements is the easiest and best solution right now.

Any kind of cap is pointless. If someone has little time to play for a few days but finds a whole day to sit and grind why should he be punished?
