Potion stacking

So I really didn't pay attention to it before but now that I can make stacks of 200 I have been going through my inventories. One place where the system is deficient is potions I can't stack potions with the same descriptions together. I even posed about it in guild chat linking the two stacks, everyone's reply was oh those are the same. I agreed then asked why can't I stack them together? This really needs to be fixed as it makes no sense.

You can't stack together crafted and looted potions.

I wasn't trying to those aren't the same anyway. What I am talking about is dropped potions with the exact same description, or crafted potions with the exact same description. I am pretty sure it has to do with how a flag is set in coding, so instead of just an item flag there is a time flag likely set when the potions was picked up or brewed.
Also if you have messed with ledger main you will notice that when you launder something it is given a separate slot in your bag, luckily you can go in and stack those but annoying that you have to individually do that.

It's there so you can't cheat on the daily writs. Imagine getting alchemist surveys for giving away a looted potion.

You cant stack "made" pots over 100.....I believe this is what he is trying to say, and he is right. I noticed this yesterday making 4 stacks of SC pots.

In part but I can't even combine a stack of 13 and a stack of 15 dropped potions even though the description is the exact same.

Ok but stacking a set of two dropped potions with the exact same description has nothing to do with turning in something on a crafted writ. Being able to stack two sets of potions with the same description made at different crafting sessions have nothing to do with crafted writs.

I think it's good that you can't stack crafted and looted potion together. But you *should* be able to make 200 stacks of each, as well as food, drinks and anything else that already stacks. Also, please PLEASE allow siege weapon stacking. That's a real bag space waster.

He's saying if you kill a mob and loot 5 health potions, then kill another mob and loot 3 health potions of the exact same description and level, you cannot stack them together. Similarly, I am unable to stack identical potions I craft if they were made with different ingredient sets even though they are, functionally, 100% identical.

That's weird and I haven't noticed it before. Do those potions have exactly the same effect? You can have potions that share the same name but have different, stacking effects (e.g. the so-called "tri-pots" are still called "panacea of health" even though they also give magicka and stamina).
