If I have a 2000 gold bounty and I die by the guards I will lose that from my pocket presuming I have it; and my bounty disappears/resets. What happens if I don't have it at all? Also, what happens if I have no gold on my character, but plenty in the bank? Does it come out of the bank?
Baskin Robbins always finds out.

If you don't have it then you still have a bounty . You have to sneak to a bank in a thieves den and clear your bounty there or wait it out .

The guards only take the gold that you're carrying, not any that may be in your bank, and the bounty is reduced by the amount of gold that they take from you.

So if you had a bounty of 50K, you were carrying 10K and you had 60K in the bank when you got killed by a guard, after you would end up with a bounty of 40K, you'd be carrying 0 gold, and you'd still have your 60K in the bank.
