Stamina Sorcerer - survivability and dark deal?

Hi all- Im thinking of returning to ESO and starting fresh with a new character. I've always been interested in making a stamina sorcerer but im a bit worried about their survivability. I know they have critical charge but it does'nt seem reliable enough. I wonder how is the new Dark Deal for selfhealing?

Dark deal is good for healing when you don't have aggro it does a pretty poor job of healing solo. It recovers about 50% of your hp bar over 4 seconds but that 50% return can turn into 20% or less if everything is beating on you. I found combining rapid regeneration + quick siphon to be a better alternative. Those combined with critical surge healing adds up to a lot of healing without having to pause for 4 seconds.

The problem with dark deal is it is such a strong heal it had to be given a major weakness. If they just made it a better equilibrium that traded like 10% of a resource for 20% of magic and health or stam/ health it would probably be more useful.

Would the heals from Rally combines with the heals from Critical surge boost survivability noticbly or is using Rally as waste?

Whilst I don't play a stamina Sorc (I'm magicka)... I would encourage you in the strongest possible way to have a look at a lot of the stamina sorc threads on the forum....

Sorcs have no affinity with stamina at the minute & a lot of problems with it, and you will end up with a bottom of the barrel character.

As a stamina based sorcerer, I find myself not needing dark exchange at all. Heavy attacks from 2h restore a huge amount of stamina, heavy attacks from staves restore a huge amount of magicka. Rolling around with power surge, forward momentum, siphon, degeneration, and mutagen.

Honestly I wouldn't be caught dead with dark exchange, no way I'm going to let up on other players in pvp just to heal myself.
