How do I go about getting my Orc armor refunded?

Orc female heavy chest piece was ruined this patch and I would like a refund of the mat's I used to craft it. I couldn't find any ingame petition button so was hoping someone here could help me. How do I petition to get a refund for these expensive mat's I used on a piece of armor that the Dev's ruined?

Follow-up question, is there any VR ranked heavy chests out there that look halfway sexy or is our only choice the nun-attire outfits that seems to dominate this game's gear choices? Thank's for your help!

@Mumnoch last I read (just around release) it was actually quite the pain in the bum to patch in memory, and you need an app like Umod. But maybe it's been simplified since then. Not sure if an external link would be allowed, but Google "Eso Umod patch Exgenesis" for the thread on another forum.

Best approach is probably to skin an outfit, that way you can change armor and still get the same look. Otherwise, you change one piece of armor, you lose the whole patching, since the way it handles outfits seems to be to compile all your worn items into a single in-memory texture for your character.

There was some discussion about whether this would trigger any kind of cheat-detection auto-ban stuff. Someone asked the devs, and they responded that so long as stuff done is cosmetic and clientside only, they don't mind and actually encourage such third party stuff - which is both really cool, and very Bethesda/TES of them :)

To be fair, this is the land of Tamriel. A harsh land where Daedra pour out of portals and magic spells can be cast with a mere flick of the fingers. Armor needs to be practical for it's soldiers and general mercenaries. To make an armor set "sexy," it would need to cut away any kind of real protection, thus leaving the wearer vulnerable to said Daedra or misfired fireball.

Actually if I was a general in a land steeped in magic I'd do the opposite and just enchant to make up the protection difference. Beautifully clad people (both male and female) charging at you would confuse and distract you without a doubt.

On a serious note, they already have "sexy" outfits in the game that NPC's wear. Just NONE for players to craft highend and very few vanity pieces. There is a very real reason you see so many people running around with the Seducer set. But you know what? The seducer set gets old, and this game needs to cater to all types of people not just those who can't function if a digital character run's by them showing some cleavage. (not saying you are this way! In my opinion though the armor designers are scared of the female form and must think it's dirty or something which is a great shame.)

If the designers think that this puritan armor they keep forcing on us will keep those of us happy that want the real Elder Scroll Fantasy genre for long they are sadly mistaken. There are plenty of other MMO's out there and no one wants to spend months and months staring at a ugly outfit.

But how do you put in a ticket ingame? They ruined the armor for me, I shouldn't be out thousands of gold because some armor designer has a bug up his butt and is scared of cleavage lol.

Dark Elf does not show skin but IS sexyish IMO :-)

Yeah - I wouldn't mind too badly the pandering-to-prudes armor we could make, if it weren't for the fact that when NPCs get to look more stylish than players, it smacks of hypocrisy.

You can locally skin the graphics in memory, but that doesn't really help, since it's only you that sees it.

Didn't think I would get so many agree badges lol. I knew I wasn't the only one who thought this though. Pay attention Dev's!

I'll check out the Dark Elf again (didn't actually craft it cause the small pic looked fugly) and Farrier_ESO how do you locally skin the graphics in memory? I would be fine with that as a stop-gap until someone higher up the chain than the armor designers goes down to them and forces them away from the puritan path they seem bent on following. Or until I find another game similar to this that isn't so prudish in the player made armor department.

I think they are thinking pragmatically and creating armor not runway attire.

I am positive you will have a skimpy WoWish girl armor set costume from the cash shop, just be patient.
Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

I personally hate the armor set costumes. We already have the seducer set. Problem with the costumes is it is all or nothing and you can't dye it. Epic fail on the armor designers part.

how do I petition ingame to get it? I've looked several times while in game for a contact GM and nothing. Where is this at? Does it exist? Is there NO way to contact a GM in game?

I'm a female gamer and do like my character to look sexy, and I did think that the Orc armor was fairly tasteful, if still a bit impractical in "reality." And, I did run around in that armor for a couple of Vet levels.

However, I fully support the dev team in creating sensible armor for both sexes. I can't tell you how many times I roll my eyes when I see characters running around in the skimpier armor sets. Granted, some of them may very well be female, like me, but I would wager the majority are males. And I think, "typical."

But, it doesn't bother me - why not? If you want to look sexy or run around in sexy gear, great! But I also support the devs in trying to stay away from the typical fantasy genre female armor. They've always tried to be more egalitarian in their armor designs. Yes, you can find sexy examples in Oblivion and Skyrim, but for the most part, they create armor that would actually serve as armor.

Now, if they really want to go for realism, they'd make heavy armor that was not form-fitting. Seriously, metal that moves with you and hugs your curves? So, I guess, they're still providing some sexy.

I don't support the Dev team when they only cater to people of ultra-conservative tastes. Especially when that taste is biased against 1 sex or straight up sexist. Males have choices to run around showing skin, looking buff, and plenty of choices to look very masculine. Females do not have choices highend to run around looking feminine or sexy. They only get masculine or ultra-conservative choices.

I am not wrong in saying that 1940-1950 styles of outfit's (pretty conservative back then) shows more skin (every bit of it tastefully) than the choices we have highend in this game. The reason I think it's wrong is because they have plenty of highend female NPC's that run around in tasteful but sexy outfits but nothing the playerbase has access to.

I don't play realism based MMO's because in a "real" universe ALL plate armor and a lot of the medium armor would be impossible for males or females to wear for a extended period of time. There would be NO magic because magic doesn't exist in the real world. There would be no looting 120+ items because no one is strong enough to carry that much weight. There would be no drinking health pot's because that doesn't exist (red bull does not give you wings and you can't fly!). I don't play games for realism. There are MMO's that cater to those type of people and ESO doesn't need to be one of them.

The Elder Scroll Universe has NEVER been that type of MMO. I play ESO because it's a fantasy based game, come on Dev's...give me my damn fantasy armor!

I concur. About tired of hearing how unrealistic it is for skin to be showing while I conjure fire in my hand and summon a demon while resurrecting someone near a dark anchor. Anyway...
