Bug with Carve? What happened?

Before 1.6, when surrounded, I could use carve in 3 or 4 directions spinning in each direction I wished to. Now, unless I WASD move my character, changing my position and the enemies position, my character ends up swinging at thin air or unintended targets. Is this intended? Not a very good change. I end up retreating a few paces to keep the mobs in front of me and they all die a second or two later than they ought to. So it isn't insurmountable, but It's incredibly annoying.

Hoping it's a bug and going to be fixed.

    It is unclear if this is a new combat mechanic or not. Other people have reported the same change, where your attacks go where your character is facing, not where you the player are facing. Let me try and find the bigger thread where this was being discussed...

    I did use the search function before I posted, but only found another complaint buried in another thread.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Is this behavior intended or a bug?

    Yes sir, that is exactly the comment I was referring to.

    As bad as having attacks not hit where the recticle is aimed is for me with a greatsword, I can see it being totaly game breaking for any ranged player.

    How is it possible that only three of us have an issue with this? Are there that many 1st person players? Are only a few of us actually having this problem? Is there some setting that fixes attacks not going where the recticle (the provided aiming device) is pointed?

    @ZOS_Anybody a comment would be nice.

    Currently I am looking at some other issues with carve, critical rush and reverse slash. If you charge and are to close after contact with your target most of the time your reverse slash button will not light up and you cannot attack, nor will your carve make contact.

    It will fire but no hits.Uppercut has this issue as well. Critical rush to target. Smash target, try to follow up with uppercut III and if your to close your button will be smoked out like its not ready to use. I must back up or use reverse slash on another target to create distance.

    Part of my thoughts are that kill boxes are stacking in close quarters. I tested this for two hours today at Chid-moska ruins with two different characters. My NB and my Templapoodle. The Lamias like to get up in your face and unless you create space you cannot get some of these two hand attacks to work.

    I play in third person. So I do not know what the issues are for first person. If you want to group up and head over to Chid- Moska to do further testing send me a PM . We can work out the details.

    I noticed this on Wolves and tigers as well. All of my DW animations and attack sequences seem fine. No issues with them at all. just the Carve wasted stamina from a missed shot. Frequent button mashing in order to get that reverse slash or uppercut off. Its right up there in frustration with the Q button not firing off tri-pots when needed.
