Before 1.6, when surrounded, I could use carve in 3 or 4 directions spinning in each direction I wished to. Now, unless I WASD move my character, changing my position and the enemies position, my character ends up swinging at thin air or unintended targets. Is this intended? Not a very good change. I end up retreating a few paces to keep the mobs in front of me and they all die a second or two later than they ought to. So it isn't insurmountable, but It's incredibly annoying.
Hoping it's a bug and going to be fixed.
