ENLIGHTENMENT
To help you earn Champion Points, we’ve introduced a new mechanic called Enlightenment to the game. Over time, your account will accrue Enlightenment. You do not have to be logged in to accrue Enlightenment.
As you participate in activities that grant experience to your Veteran Rank character, Enlightenment provides you with a bonus to Champion Point progression, helping you earn points faster. Eventually, you may run out of Enlightenment, but don’t worry—more Enlightenment is added to your account every 24 hours.
Activities that grant experience include questing, killing enemies, fighting in Cyrodiil, exploring dungeons and delves, and facing Trials and the Dragonstar Arena.
A new mechanic, Enlightenment, has also been introduced to the game.
Enlightenment slowly accumulates on your account at a fixed rate, regardless of the character you are playing, as long as your account has at least one Veteran Rank character.
Anything that normally awards experience will also give your Veteran Ranked characters bonus experience as long as you have not used up your Enlightenment.
This only applies towards Champion Point progression at the Veteran Rank.
This bonus experience does not apply towards increasing your level, Veteran Rank, or improving any weapon skills.
As experience is earned and bonus Champion experience is applied, your Enlightenment will get used up. Once there is no more Enlightenment left, experience earned will count towards Champion point progression at the normal rate.
@ZOS It would be really groovy if we could get some actual non-vague details about enlightenment.
Here's what we have officially been given from what I can gather:

It's hard for us to help you if we don't know how the system works (with actual details) from an official source.
1) What IS the bonus (numbers please) (per day & max).
1.5) Is this bonus linear or a curve? (do you get more bonus during one interval of time and less during another or is it the same across the board?)
2) When are the timers supposed to start?
3) Do the timers/E gain still proceed or do they halt during play/use with a vet character? If they halt on vet character do they proceed when playing a non vet character?
There are probably more good questions but just the basics would be nice.

I'm pretty sure this has all been covered.
1)400k normal xp gained per day is multiplied by 4. Meaning you have to gain 400k normal experience to use up your 1.6mil enlightened bonus per day.
1.5)400k per day. Except for this bug that is occurring to some people
2) My guess on the timer starting is at the point you logged in after the patch was updated. I logged in around 8pm, and I have always had enlightenment bonus after that point.
3)The timers will deliver your E at the same time (based on when you originally logged in for 1.6 is my guess). This will happen regardless of when you are logged off, on a sub-VR alt, or on your VR characters.
Bonus tidbits) you can only store a total of 3 days worth of E before it doesn't stack up anymore. Meaning 1.2mil regular experience, or 4.8mill Enlightened xp.
if you are logged off for 72 hours, you will have 1.2mil reg-xp worth of E. if you earn 200k in your play session, then you will have 1mil left over. after another 24 hours, you will get another 400K, but since it caps at 1.2mil, you effectively receive 200k. so at least earn 4cp's per day to make the most of your E. 900 days later, you will be maxed!
Edit: Or could it be, that you just gain 400k Enl. Everyday. No matter, what you do?
