1.6 Ambush vs Lotus Fan With Magika Build?

So, the only skill on my bar now after my changes in 1.6 that uses Stamina is Ambush. I am in full heavy armor with all my armor enchants going to Magika increase and my jewlery enchants giving increase spell damage. Since Lotus fan is magika based is that a better choice for my build? I feel like since Ambush is Stamina based it is not at its potential and is not better than having Lotus Fan, though Lotus Fan does seem to kind of suck aside from the added snare I guess. My build is for the best damage possible with survival. Please see my build below and let me know if you would go Lotus Fan or Ambush with this heavy armor magika build.

Skill 1.) Lotus Fan OR Ambush
Skill 2.) Reapers Mark
Skill 3.) Swallow Soul
Skill 4.) Concealed Weapon
Skill 5.) Sap Essence
Ultimate.) Soul Tether

Race: Dark Elf (werewolf for free passive to stamina regen, but do not use WW form at all)

Armor: Full heavy armor with all magika enchantments on armor to increase max magika and spell damage. Set is Song of Lamae.

Jewelry: Magika regen with spell damage increase all 3 pieces

Weapon: Two handed

Based of the build, you can tell I am focused a bit on the whole Spell blade style having heavy armor and a 2H weapon but my skills focus on magika based with basic and light being melee based physical. This was my design for a Shadow Knight type of character. Lotus Fan seems like the only gap closer for me to use that is Magika based, and I do really like having a gap closer for PvP.

    I would go the unmorphed version. It does more damage then lotus crap. else i would go for ambush if you don't mind it cost stamina. both do better damage then lotus.

    Hmmm, did not think of just taking the unmorphed version. What about the DoT that Lotus fan does though?

    The DOT sucks on lotus FYI. They should have made it based on your highest stat, not one or the other.

    I just feel like nightblades are terrible right now :(

    I've had Lotus Fan until now. The stun of nearby mobs was very useful in solo PvE.

    Now I'm not so sure. I tried Ambush on PTS, but seeing as I do use stam for weapon attacks, it may not be the best option for me.

    If you were to use my build, which is magika and health focused, would you take Lotus Fan? Is the DoT equal to the damage of Ambush by the final tick? Also, I though lotus fan was a snare not a stun? The snare and DoT could be good in dungeons and PvP. Toss in the Shadow Barrier passive from Concealed Weapon and I would have quite a good boost to armor / spell resist with my enemy snared all the while using my life stealing attacks to drain away my enemy while I sustain myself.

    They changes certainly made my build completely messed up. I was loving my build prior to 1.6, but now...I have changed from a ranger medium armor build to a heavy armor knight style because Magika skills is my own way to stay alive in PvP and Dungeons. Since the changes it is either use life steal and magika based attacks to survive or stack stamina for more damage at the cost of going down quick with no heals.

    Swallow Soul and Sap Essence are vital to survive, and they are magika. I miss Ambush being magika...

    You are right, the stun if from the base skill.

    I think it depends on whether Lotus Fan will do more damage in your case based on the size of your magicka pool and what else you would use stamina for. If you are not using any weapon skills, then maybe consider Ambush for utility, even if it will do less damage than Lotus Fan, because the "next attack" will have 20% more damage and you can use something that hits them really hard.

    ambush is now stam so it will do almost no damage if thats your aim.
    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.
