Who thought this was a good idea in Justice Sytem?

On PTS, when I was in "carebear" DONT KILL NPC mode, I was caught stealing and the NPC attacked me. I ended up having to kill him. Just now, twice with the "Dont Kill NPCS" on, I was caught breaking into a safebox. I was unable to attack the NPC who attacked me. I also could not run out the door, because I was in combat.. (Stupid you cant open doors in combat.) I have Whitestrake armor on, so it took the NPC 5-7 minutes to barehanded beat me to death, while all I could do is sit there, waiting. Not sure which is the worse bug here.

IF an NPC attacks you, you SHOULD snap out of carebear and into can kill NPC mode. And, you SHOULD be able to open doors in combat.

Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
Where is new content? Sigh.

You should be able to open doors ad long ad there's a guard waiting to chase you outside

Yes, not being able to open the door once you are spotted makes for a very bad time.

If it took 5 minutes for the npc to kill you, why didn't you just turn carebear mode off?

This doesn't sound like a bug. This sounds like you want the ability to exploit NPC behavior in order to avoid paying off bounties.

Turn on the attack feature, and your first problem is gone. Don't get spotted by guards indoors and your second problem is gone too.

Ok...first off I TOTALLY agree that this should snap you out of carebear mode.

On the other hand - I'm sorry but the situation itself DID make me laugh.

It's a bug - i've run into it myself - where the NPC spots you and engages, but you are unable to attack and counter the NPC themselves.

You're snapped out of carebear mode as I was able to kill him with indirect AoE (carve in this case) without killing anyone else in the room.

So yes, it seems to be a bug. Either the bug is with the 'hostile' function being applied improperly to the NPC or that somehow being in that scenario knocks you out of 'safe mode' which is also a bug.

Yeah.. i was loling in guild. They need to give them something besided thier bare knuckles to atack with.. a knive, even a wooden spoon. Went back with "kill npcs" on and got me some dough, and a 1K bounty. I never actually tried to turn it on in-combat. Figured I couldnt swap it on and off while being attacked.
