Can the camera be locked to the character?

With the patch my character is missing a lot because my spells go where the character is facing now and not where the camera is pointing. If I could lock the camera rotation to the character facing it could still work okay. Is this possible?

Shouldn't it be wherever the reticle is pointing?

It was but not anymore. I can point the reticule behind my character and the spell is still cast to the front the way he is standing. On my templar character this is the worst with puncturing strikes but for all classes it makes dawn breaker work poorly.

Tab targeting should help...and there is always the 1st person option.

I suspect the issue you are having isn't so much character direction as it is difficulty telling when the reticle is actually targeting something. If there is not a direct target in front of the reticle, the system seems to default to last attempted aimed location.

This is a prime reason I think they should add the ability to sight in your character, as the perceived hit zone is different for different players and default center screen is not always optimal.

So is there no ability to rotate and lock the camera relative to the position of your character then? Like always have it to the left side of the character or something or slightly to the front.

I say this with no intention at all of fighting or questing properly like this - just I like to take footage, make films etc and I find it annoying I cannot do things like this. They seem to be able to do it in their promotional videos but I think that might be just them using one character to film another. - like I have seen footage of a character on horseback riding towards the camera and stuff.

Forgive me if this is an obvious question but I am a total pudding when it comes to things like this. My ESO filmaking 'career' basically started at Xmas.

@wenxue2222b16_ESO , there are some adjustments you can make with 1.6, but you cannot lock the camera view in place at this time.

It's pretty much an all or nothing proposition.

You should absolutely be able to adjust your camera view and your reticle sweet spot independent of one another.

I have a sort of related issue; the targeting works fine in that the critter I mean to hit gets hit, but the animations are all over the place. I strike north, critter's bar takes damage, but the animation looks like I"m casting a spell to the east.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
