What trait do you have?
No, this is before applying CPs.dwemer_paleologist wrote: »it sounds like he has the passives turned on for this in his champion system passives that he chose.
Incidently, whatever weapon set gives the most weapon power gives the most spell power. If only Templar's charge wasn't a self-stun, I'd be all set with DW.
Watch out for DW'ing Radiant Destruction spammers, they are OP.
Sneak attack w/ Wrecking Blow followed up by Radiant Destruction. Ouch!Incidently, whatever weapon set gives the most weapon power gives the most spell power. If only Templar's charge wasn't a self-stun, I'd be all set with DW.

Thought about it but that charge being horrible is kind of a setback. Looked like I get more from a 2 hander than I do a destro staff as well, though. hmmm
There are major downsides to DW for a caster, the most obvious being the loss of a ranged attack for weaving. Plus, heavy attacks would restore stamina instead of magicka.
Also I am not sure how people are healing with it. Do templars really use all class abilities to heal?? Most I've seen use primarily resto staff, with expensive class heals being used only for emergencies really.
The one place DW seems to work well is on the second bar for sorc execute, since that is just Mage's Wrath spam anyway.
OK, so my Templar Healer is now a Dual Wield Weapon Healer because my spell damage bumps about 186.
I benefit more from using a melee weapon at the moment then I would my resto staff. Honestly this doesn't make any sense to me at all.
I was thrilled when I realized that Resto and Destruction would pull off of Spell Damage but now with 1.6 live the better weapon for heals is two daggers ?
Can someone at least confirm that this is a bug and will be fixed in a future patch ? Or should I just deck out my dual wield daggers to gold ?
Unless you're magicka melee. Light attacks would do more damage than with a staff. There are major downsides to DW for a caster, the most obvious being the loss of a ranged attack for weaving.
Magicka melee runs out of stamina first due to dodging, sprinting, and blocking.Plus, heavy attacks would restore stamina instead of magicka.
Successful healing Templars use a resto staff. That is a great point. If it works for you to swap from resto staff to dual wield for the occasional Ritual of Rebirth, go with it.Also I am not sure how people are healing with it. I wouldn't turn up my nose at a 16% increase in healing. But that is just at base stats. The Champion System takes it that much further with constellations to increase healing done in power and crit.Ok but a 186 point bump to heals or damage isn't that much in the current system. I agree that staffs should match or like 2H exceed dual wield. But to put forth that giving up the abilities of a restro staff to use a melee weapon for a miniscule damage bump doesn't seem a smart move.

The only thing stopping this from being viable is Healing Ritual's uselessness. So as long as that stays constant, the meta is safe.
