1.6 demands way too much additional CPU performance it seems.

On the GPU side all is fine, my Vram usage went up by like 200MB in big cities, and that's totally cool and expected....but the AI must be programmed extremely poor...because at least on my machine the FPS in cities took a GOOD 20FPS dip.

That doesn't seem acceptable for the kind of light AI that those additional NPCs have. I mean sure, I only got a cheap-ish quad core running at 4Ghz playing this game...but it doesn't seem right that my fps goes down from 45-50 in big cities to 25-30. That's outright unacceptable to me.

And now don't tell me that I should just turn down the settings...because there clearly is a problem with the AI of the new NPCs as regions that don't feature the new NPCs run just as fast as they used to. Even small villages that feature the new NPCs (like 2-5 of them) will force my game down to 30fps.

Sure that's playable...but it sure as heck is not optimized.

CPU is a 860K running at a permanent 4 Ghz with the NB and ram overclocked together with a GTX 960.

Anyone else got this problem? Situationally losing up to 50% of your framerate because of a few extra NPCs on screen does not seem acceptable.

Haven't noticed. The graphics options did reset for me. You might want to look at them if you had them set to custom.

Yeah mine reset to ultra high with everything turned on.

I couldn't run it like that before, except alone in the woods.

Of course, I couldn't remember what I had set to what anymore.

My FPS is hovering at 11- 15 in cities now and around 35-45 inside a hut or structure that has a door etc to enter.

I had to reduce my graphics setting to off set this but I think this type of drop off is really poor. You re requiring players to upgrade equipment just to play the game they had no trouble with 24 hours ago.

Not good business IMO

You need to make sure you changed your graphics settings BACK to what it was pre 1.6. With 1.6 your graphics were automatically reconfigured and likely set at too high of settings. It happened to everyone, scale things back to where they were and you should see the same performance you always have.

Weird, mine reset from my custom settings (ultra-high, with a couple of tweaks) all the way down to low, not in the other direction like some of you seem to have experienced. I set them back to where they were before, and noticed no difference in performance. Granted, I haven't really had a chance to play around much at all yet, but I had these settings on PTS with no noticeable difference in performance from 1.5.

ZOS asks you to remove addons.. I didn't need to I just modified the .txt file as shown.

My FPS has more than doubled with 1.6. Everything on Max settings, I new get 40+ FPS, 1.5 = 20ish.
