So I have jumped on Update 6 today and so far have one massive issue with the entire thing. Why am I not earning Champion Points? I have so far completed two Undaunted Gold Key Pledges and have participated in the Justice System heavily (ie. breaking & entering, pickpocketing, murdering etc.) which in total probably took around 3-4 hours. Yet I have not earned a single Champion Point. In fact, I am only 64,000 XP into the 400,000 XP requirement of a CP! When this system was first revealed, Paul Sage said it will take around 1 hour to earn 1 CP, and this is a totally acceptable time frame in my opinion. However, how can it take 3/4 hours of gameplay (including those dungeon runs and justice system participation) to not even get 1/5 of the way through earning one? This needs to be addressed in the next patch ZOS, and it would be great if we could get some confirmation as to whether or not it will be reviewed. XP gain is simply way to slow at endgame and is only going to encourage that grindy, slog-fest behaviour on the latest and greatest Craglorn boss- something that I believed this system would put an end to!

It has been long discussed. If your goal is to max your CP points - Good Luck on that - its meant to take a long time.

1 hour is probably accurate if you just turned VR1 and you have Cadwell's to do. After Cadwell's get ready for exp potions and killing the same mobs for 3 years...

No one said anything about obtaining all the champion points, and I'm getting really tired of seeing this argument...the issue is with obtaining even a single champion point. 1 champ point per hour with legitimate gameplay seems fair considering the mere quantity of champ points. That's 3,600 hours of gameplay which comes out to 150 days of playing 24/7...obviously that's impossible.

Let's say you averaged just 5 hours a day, that would take you 720 days or almost 2 full years of legitmate gameplay to obtain all the points...which to me is a very very long time. At the current Xp gain rate, it would likely take even a dedicated player about that much time to obtain half the total points.

Just ignore the trolls. ZoS said in live streams a CP should be easy to get in a couple hours of gameplay so for someone that plays 4-5 hrs a day they should average 2 points a day. If someone really wanted to grind mobs to get points they should be able to get 4-5 a day.

If you want to get Champion Points at a reasonable rate, you need to run in circles and grind mobs until your eyeballs bleed. Actually playing the game, such as doing dungeons or PvP or quests, is a bad way to earn Champion Points. It is a bizarre design. They have been threatening to increase the XP from dungeons and PvP for a while now, but never seem to actually do it! I sure hope they do it and do it soon!

I played 6 hours yesterday including 2 hrs dedicated to grinding exp and I am half way to my 1st point so that means probably 6 more hours till I get my 1st champ point. So 12 hours give or take for ME (im only speaking about myself ofc) to get 1 champ point... seems a bit extreme?

After playing for 5 hours last night I was just halfway toward my first point. Things that I turned in include the following.

All of the Skyreach quests, AA, Hel Ra, Spindlecluth Pledge, and VDSA.

He said about 1CP in an hour with enlightenment .

Enlightenment won't kick in until 24 hours after your first VR char logged in. So that's later today for most people on NA server.

IIRC from the test server you get enough for 3-4 pts a day (across all VR chars, not each)

I'm hearing from sources that it's actually not just monster exp in VR but that all quests, like the Craglorn repeatables and pvp dailies, have also been greatly reduced. I don't see how this is intentional and it needs to be looked at.

    That's the key right there.

Doing 2 pledges, some lederman stuff, some light PVP netted me around 100k exp over at least 6 hrs of gameplay.

My main issue is the game is way less casual friendly now, PVP is going to be awful when the CP disparity comes into play down the road.
