Seems a lot of people are getting this, is there any fixes planned for it anytime soon?

Anyone found a way around it or fixes?

Please do not say redownload the entire game again because if that's the case I am done with this game.

Read it all before you start.

Some people find that just closing the launcher and reopening it also fixes it, but that's not on the list and I can't confirm one way or the other.

    I followed this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJ6imcVS9f0

Particularly the part during the last 3rd or so detailing how to start, cancel, close, start, repair, etc. after deleting the version files. I had to redownload 6GB of patch but it beat the hell out of a reinstall.

I had this problem. I relaunched my computer and game started working right away. I was thinking when my computer was starting up again that if this does not work, I will try to launch the game from .exe and not trough launcher. Be sure that try that too

Deleted the version files and now it says not enough hard drive space to fix the game.
You have enough space to download and install the entire game but not for a few version files?

I had to free up ANOTHER 60GB of hard drive space after deleting the version files even though I had already downloaded the full game and had 80-100GB free already....because it refused to repair after deleting the version files due to insufficient hard drive space.

FIX YOUR STUPID PATCHING SYSTEM OR EXPECT ALOT OF PEOPLE TO LEAVE OR NOT EVEN BOTHER.

I now have to redownload 20GB from another game that I should not of needed to delete because of your stupid broken client patching system that could not recognize I had more than enough space to replace the 3 version files....

    Complete ******** joke.

Guess what....after all that, restart PC and manifest error comes right back.

    Pathetic.

Their patching system continues to disappoint, annoy and generally detract from the game experience. I get error 209 after each reboot, so far without exception, but sometimes when I restart the launcher, it just works and allows me to play. Not always, though, and so far never after a fresh reboot. The trick with deleting the version files and "faking" a repair by interrupting it has worked for me a couple of times before, but it didn't solve the problem this time.

The people who made the launcher and patching system, likely long since left/got laid off, and the replacements have no idea on the workings of either... And no-one have the knowledge to program replacements for either...

aye it works... but why do i have to do this bloody protocol every day?! (instead of playing) one more time it occurs and the game will be uninstalled for good.

This fault has happened with most patches and usually goes away after a few days. All you need to do is close the launcher and re-open it. You may need to do it a couple times before getting the "Play" prompt but it beats activating the "Repair" prompt which 99% of the time is completely unnecessary. Some report that running the launcher as Administrator also helps.

recently almost everything i have to run as admin... it is necessary but it isn't the ultimate solution.

hey @ZOS_GinaBruno any chance this bug on multiple OS and multiple hardware configurations is going to get fixed?

the game isnt broken, its the verification process that it is crap. close and re-launch launcher and it works and game loads

tell the launcher team to do their jobs already

That's because it's a temporary launcher bug after each patch and one that isn't fixed by repairing or re-installing the game, or rebooting the computer. It usually only requires the launcher to be closed and re-opened until the "play" button appears, or in some cases simply running the launcher as administrator. Once a patch has been installed you can also run the game from the eso.exe file in the game folder and bypass the launcher completely. The bug usually clears up after a couple of days.

It really is time this was fixed, and the normal workaround officially acknowledged in the meantime rather than people being directed to undertake time-consuming repairs and re-installs.

Yeah, Help was no help in this case for me. I Just ignored the error and it went away after last weeks patch, but came back this week. ZOS needs to really pack the crown store with some swag so they can hire a few more junior level QA guys.

This. I've only ever gotten the error after the patch completes, at which point I just run ESO directly from the exe, and don't even open the crappy launcher.

In fact, I always run ESO from the exe. I only use the launcher when I need to patch the game. :)
