New Game?

With all these changes and undoubtedly their accompanying bugs I am tempted to reroll my Sorc and Templar and nightblade and Dragonknight. It’s a whole new game. As soon as this 300kilobytes per fortnight patch is finished I will try out the build and may just do that – reroll at least one character.

I am curious though over one issue. Why was there not a new class released? With revamping virtually the whole game now would have been an opportune time to release another class.

Not really. Whenever you introduce a new variable into a system you compound the complexity. Also from a business stand point it would make more sense to wait until the crown store to make new classes as DLC. I have enough low level alts that I feel no need to re-roll a character but good chance those builds will get some love.

Personally, I haven't found much difference in game play... other than the interminably long loading screens lasting even longer than they did before. I've already had one time-out where I had to relog...

I have eight characters -- variations on all four classes -- and they still play pretty much the same as they did before (to the extent I've been able to tell in the short time since the patch). Respec-ing eight characters was a pain in the butt even after I'd written everything down the day before (which took forever; might be nice if ZOS gave us a means to access our characters off line so we could print out character sheets...) All of my characters had the same skills with the same lethality (or lack of), etc. So I don't see the need to reroll.

YMMV, of course, depending on your skill mix.

Thanks for the input. I do not run the PTS server. and the patch for me will take at a minimum 24 hours. DSL connection speeds of 313 KBS max. And I do not have access to cable for I live in the boonies...lucky to have DSL. I wish there were other options for folks in my circumstances to get the patches in DVD's or be able to download the patch on a faster connection to a flash drive and then download onto the machine with the game.

Just to add - your characters are already 'rerolled' as all of your attributes and skill points have been reset.

    Indeed.

And OP, there were four new classes released, they just happen to have the same names.

1.6 is a whole different world.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Pretty much. Actually, only 1 skill on my main skill bar is the same on my NB. This is partially because I no longer have a main and back bar but rather a single target and aoe bar but you get the gist. They are all rebalanced and I don't think the same set up is the best at all.

On the class thing, please no more classes yet. When they figure out how to make sorcerer useful in PVE they can add another class. Currently you have 3 classes and sorc. When you get to four we'll think about that 5th one.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.
