Redguard Medium Armor (Re-worked)

Now this is just my opinion on the visuals, but they have effectively ruined just about the best medium armor set in the game for me, most of them already look terrible to begin with. I guess I'll just have to re-craft everything in an uglier style or go with a costume (or a disguise, oh wait they gimped most of those as well), now isn't that convenient with the crown store release just behind the corner.

This is right up there with the other armor changes they made, most of which there largely seemed to be only negative feedback about during the PTS, yet they went ahead with the changes anyway. Thoughts?

I agree the medium looks way better in 1.6. I also agree light Redguard armour in 1.6 looks awful. It's elegance and overall uniqueness is completely gone ... along with b.... uhm cleavage.

The chestpiece looks better now. But the shoes and especially the helmet looks terrible in 1.6.

I like the new one better too.

Also, my level 22 orc DK is wearing orc armor, and for the level 22 at least, it looks way better now than it did before.

Really? I personally dislike the new medium while I loved the old one, it was one of the only mediums that was almost fully enclosed, the other decent ones being Bosmer and Daedric to some extent, but to each their own I guess... I just feel that taking away pre-existing options is usually not good though, adding new options while preserving existing ones that people may have grown to like I'm all for.

And yeah, the changes to the Light armor were pretty horrid as well from what I can remember, that style used to be rather distinct, just like the medium.

While I don't even like the new chest, I usually wear a Heraldry on top of it all anyway, but yes the new helm is my biggest gripe with the new style. It (the old helm) also made a lot more sense for the Redguard to wear on the dunes of Alik'r, to cover their skin against all the sand.

That is exactly the same way as I feel. Many of the changes on all the armorsets (orc, redguard, light, medium and heavy) are to drastic.

I agree, the texture is more detailed, but look at the neck and throat area, less is covered and it looks ... cheaper.

My first impression of the Redguard boots when I saw them on my NB was that she must have mugged a Power Ranger for his rubber boots. That's what it looks like to me in game now, just cheap rubber props.

The leather detail on the new looks better, but the design looks better on the old. I would have preferred the more intricate leather be put on the design for the old.

I know, its about the medium armor, but just logged in and saw, which cruelty they did to my light redguard chestpiece... :'(
But the new light armor looks like a medium armor, so maybe it will fit the thread...

Gloves and belt are very close to its original style and yes, it looks gut and more detailed, but why the hell did they change the look of the chestpiece so much? I loved that uniform-look of the old one and now it doesn't even look like a light armor any more, it more seems like a medium armor. Who believes, that this is an improvement?

I really wish that they will replace this terrible new "whatever" by a better textured version of the old one...

Well, and I loved this long flappy... whatever it is called. Any name for this textile rag? xD However, I want it back.

Welcome to the club, lol. For the first time since launch days I had to use Hide Helmet, and believe me it does not work well with my facial hair options.

ISO old armor back & WTB barbershop coupon .. now if I could at the very least dye that glorified jester loyalty costume, I'd be somewhat content.

I hate the new Redguard light armour. It's lost all of the swashbuckling character it once had. The new Redguard medium armour, and heavy armour are mixed bags for me. I like some of the changes, and I dislike some of the other changes.

I personally dislike how the veteran rank redguard head piece looks like an ordinary helmet in update 6 while the lower level stuff actually looks pretty cool. I enjoyed the the ninja like look of the redguard head piece and i want the veteran rank version to resemble the lower level gear.

I want to like the new medium helmet, but the only reason I don't is because it morphs my character's face. It pushes his cheekbones into his face, cuts off the back of his head a little, and shortens his nose.

I have a very deep dislike for the new Redguard medium armor. When I logged on and looked at it, my first thought was "my character went from looking like a bad ass ninja to a generic wimp." There's less neck protection too so he could easily get beheaded. I wanna be a bad ass ninja again!

The suggestion process at a ZOS meeting table to drum up ideas for increasing Crown Store Sales probably went something along these lines.

"Hey, what if we take all the existing armor and make it look like crap! Then people will buy costumes because they will be the only cool looking ones in the game! Then monthly we can slowly degrade the look of the Costumes to make them buy more Crowns for new Costumes we added!".....

If there was just only one piece I could bring back, it would be the helmet. The new helmet reminds me too much of one of the Imperial helmets.

), and what about the chunks of iron on boots and gauntlets? Totally un-pro, how do you suppose to sneak with those? Or shut a bow? Or throw a ninja-star?

Showing male flesh = right up the Dev's ally! They like it! They want it! They need more of it!

Showing female flesh = taboo! Dirty, dirty females, they shouldn't expose any skin!! They are slowly making this true in this game.
