Are people not getting what we are saying or what?

If imperial edition owners can no longer BUY A MOUNT FOR 1 GOLD.

Then that completely screws imperial edition owners over since now they will have to pay full price in gold for a mount when creating new characters?

OR is it just a case of we now have a free mount for no cost at all?

I don't think you understand what others have already said. Imperial Owners get the mount and don't spend the 1 gold. They get the mount. They are not screwed out of the mount.

Test it. Make a new character, check your collections, grab your mount.

It makes sense now, people were miss understanding what was actually being asked.

    See now it makes sense...

So the answer is instead of paying 1 gold for a horse imperial edition owners now have free mounts at no gold cost at all.

You just have to go into your collections menu and select set active on imperial horse.

I think imperial edition owners just got a boost, before the imperial horse cost 1 gold and was not as good as the other higher end/cost horses, now they are the same as all other mounts and are free with no gold cost lol

People buying the Imperial ed. after today will no longer have to pay the outrageous price of 1 gp per character for the white Imperial horse. Instead it will automatically be available for free in the collection system for all characters.
    UNACCEPTABLE!

Yet another example of how ZOS is always trying to screw us all over. That's it, I'm uninstalling!

    *cough*

Sorry, I just couldn't help jumping on the self-parody bandwagon that's always so crowded around here.

I guess there's a little Emily Litella in all of us. :)

If this is true, its just another wonderful "gift" from ZOS

Instead of being a Negative Nellie, just read. The info on ACCOUNT WIDE mounts has been available for quite some time now. Plus a number of people gave nice, polite answers in this thread.

No, ZOS didn't "screw" us. They DID give us an awesome gift in 1.6

If you already have a horse on your account, all characters can use that horse.

If you do not have a horse on the account, you can buy one and then all characters can use that horse.

If you have the Imperial Edition and need to buy a new horse because you have none at all for any character, then you can still do so. I know I did on the PTS. It was really slooooowwww being a L1 horse.

The Imperial Horse is still available to you if you purchased the Imperial Edition.

It is just located in a new place.

You now have a collections area where pets, mounts, costumes etc. are stored so they do not take up inventory space.

Press U. For the horse click on the Mounts tab. Right click on the Imperial horse and select Set Active, this will place a check mark on it to show it is the active mount.

    Close the window (Alt).

    Press H and enjoy.

Yes. This is correct; but wonder if a certain level has to be achieved or if it just took time to show up. This wasn't in my collection when I posted earlier; but is now.

    Thank you all.

No, but you'll keep the horse skin and the characters with that purchases will start out with +10 in their expensive horses' bonuses, e.g. if you've had a draft horse, you'll start with +10 in max capacity.

Not to beat a dead horse BUTT.... I am still trying to figure this out. I had to set Imperial as active. I got a horse. Cool... My new sorc didn't have it and couldn't figure out why. Then the annoc of the tiger mount came out and now that is her mount. My new EP character still doesn't have a mount. I cant set the imperial to active , it says set chat or set link or something...

Guess I have to keep digging till I find how this thing really works. Although I would love to have my Tiger with my Kij and not the High elf.... Ah well....

That sounds like a bug maybe? All I had to do was go to Collections/Mounts and set whatever I wanted active for each character.

It should be very, very simple. If it's not working as described below I recommend submitting a bug report:

All your mounts are available to all your characters. They can all use the same one, or (if you have enough) they can have different ones.

To set which mount you use log into a character, go to the Collections menu (bound to U by default) and select Mounts. You should see a menu with all your unlocked mounts (white names and colour pictures) and any of the horses available for gold which you don't have yet (grey names and silhouettes).

Choose which mount you want to use, right click it and pick 'Set Active' (this is the top option in the list, above Link in Chat). A tick will appear next to the picture. This is now your active mount.

Make sure you're in an area where you can ride and press the mount button (H by default). Your character will get onto the selected mount.

Note: You have to do this for each character individually. Newly created characters (or ones you have not logged into/selected a mount for since before Update 1.6) will not have a mount by default.

I know this is an month-old thread, but I think this here is the part that is still confusing people to this day.

:D Ah, well, I came here checking to see if my friend who just got the Imperial edition last night would have to buy the 1 gold horse before he could use it. I'm actually a little bit confused myself, but I know what to do now thanks to this thread so we will figure it out. :)
