So restoration staff abilities help templar heals at all?

Do any of the passives help templar skill heals? Restoration expert looks like it might.... perhaps restoration master (although on the description I am seeing on the internet, it says restoration skills ONLY on this on).

So restoration expert effects templar heals or no?

Thanks for the help.

    • Restoration Expert: Increase healing on allies under 30% Health by 15% (no mention of only Restoration Heals).
    • Restoration Master: Increases all healing done by 5% (specifically says all Healing).
Both of the above just require having a Resto staff equipped but should effect all Healing you initiate, regardless of where that Healing comes from. It is apparently being nerfed in 1.6, see Kragorn's reply below.

Am I not right in thinking this gets nerfed in 1.6 to ONLY boost staff skills?

Haven't been on PTS but pretty sure I read about this mega-nerf, which ZOS claim is a 'bug fix' but this is how it was when the game was released, hard to believe that story seeing as how it took them a year to 'fix' it.

Thanks for the responses DeLindsay and Kragon, I thought I read that restoration master was for restoration abilities only - and this was on another website. I will check the patch notes, if any one else has any information I would be much appreciated. I don't want to waste leveling restoration staff if I don't have to.

    Thank you!

Thanks Mutagen, mostly just concerned with the passives though. Do they work with 1.6 with the templar heals?

Okay, found what I was thinking of, it's in the 1.6.1 Patch Notes:
    Restoration Staff

Fixed an issue where Restoration Expert and Restoration Master were increasing all healing done; this was not working as intended. Restoration Expert and Restoration Master now only increase healing done with Restoration Staff abilities. The ability tool-tips for these passives have been updated to reflect this fix.

Clutch Craglorn, saved me a lot of time. That is disappointing though that they don't work with all heals in the game. But, it seems like ZOS wants abilities to affect the passives of that tree, mainly only. Making those weapon choices very important - with the abilities and passives being connected.

Actually the nerf is worse than it should be, IMO it should apply when the staff is equipped.

Many skills in several skill lines apply like that, some of course apply to using a skill-line skill so it's not entirely black-and-white but nerfing it this hard really makes them pretty ignorable even for Restor staff use until you have more Skill Points than you can spend on 'must haves'.
