B2P - Race / Alliance Choices

At launch last year you couldn't play any race in any alliance unless you pre ordered or bought an "explorer pack" of some kind.

Will the new players coming with B2P launch have to buy the imperial edition in order to get all the races playable in any faction ? Or Is that the new basis offer with Standard Edition ?

I don't think that any race/any alliance has been or is being offered again. I haven't seen it announced anywhere.

Neither. The Explorer's Pack isn't available at all. Console pre-orders still get it, though.

Just asked in game, and ppl who just bought the Standard Edition can't play any race in any alliance.
But there's no option to upgrade to "explorer pack" within the crown store (just checked on the pts).

So what's the deal here ? Newcommers won't have that option at all ??

Imperial Edition doesn't even seem to provide that ?

It was only offered for pre-orders. Pre-order console players can get it, but PC users are sol

    Nope.

You can still buy the EP from third-parties and ZOS have confirmed the codes work, but ZOS have said they have "no plans" to offer it again .. of course "no plans" is what was said about ESO being a B2P game so believe what you want, history will show how reliable "no plans" is ... ;)

Given enough griping and time, I have no doubt it will land on the Crown Store.

It wasnt tied to Imperial , it was tied to all Pre-Orders with Explorers Pack.
It should be unavailable always !

@ZOS_GinaBruno is there any plan on releasing an explorer pack in the Crown Store in a near future ?

Not sure if I am reading wrong or if there is a misunderstanding of the "any race / any alliance" thing. First, the Imperial Edition unlocks only the Imperial race, which can be played in any alliance, not all races any alliance. EP was an exclusive pre order option that allowed any race any alliance game style. The Imperial Edition is going to be offered in the crown store and should allow Imperials to play any alliance. And according to forum chatter, Explorer's Pack is only offered through 3rd party and console pre order which allows the any race any alliance bonus. (No current plans to offer that other than through the pre order. I personally hope it stays that way, but time will tell)

I pre ordered and also bought the imperial upgrade... but i'm asking for the newcomers in march 17th.

I know none of u guys would ever consider playing a race that's not part of your alliance... And that no righteous mind would ever play a bosmer or khajiit nightblade outside the Aldmeri faction. [/sarc]

Right now your anwsers just fell like u can but sure don't want the newbies to have what u got.

Well so to be clear, my response above was speaking for just me. I want the Explorer to be exclusive because that how it was sold. So bonus for pre order.......okay never mind....seems like yet another slap in the face. Imperial edition, well if they pay for it, they should have it. So as long as the new players receive these items in the same way that they were offered to me, then they can get them. But please, don't ask me to do X, take my money, then go to the new player and say, "You too can join the club for the low, low price of $X.XX."

EP can still be obtained through third parties, so go and get it there. But to change the rules, just to appease some imagined new players who have contributed 0 to the game thus far, and may not even be here long enough to add anything at all to it, just would make ZOS the biggest sell out in history (IMO) and I would have to seriously rethink even playing this game for free knowing that the rug could/would be sold out from under me.

It isn't about not wanting the new players to have what I have, it is about them not getting without doing what I did. (And that applies to me and me alone for the opinion) People think that they can pay less for something and receive more seems more ludicrous a request than me saying no. PERIOD

Yeah, that was a pre-order perk, as I recall, not part of the IE. As far as I know, the digital IE is still available, but I don't see them giving any pre-order perks a year after release. Maybe when they open up pre-orders for console they'll offer it with those, but you won't get it with the PC/Mac version.
