New Player - Few Questions

DatGuyAsh

Hey all, I played the beta early last I think it was right?
I didn't play much of it.. I bought subscription late last month and only have five days left of subscription haven't got around to play ESO just yet I have been busy, I have the game installing right and I cannot wait to play!

Few questions I want to ask below.

1. When does buy to play arrive?
2. What is the rarest item color in-game?
3. Is there a best class to use as of right now?
4. Is there any pets that help fight with you
5. Is there different types of horses or just one?
6. How long does level 50 take? I got told veteran ranks are like one million exp before you rank again, is that a lot of EXP on ESO?
7. Is this game active enough to group up with rank people doing dungeons?
8. Is this game active enough for PVP, what level should I start PVPing?

That's pretty much it for now, thanks all! :)

    1) B2P is March 17th I believe.
    2) Golden items are the rarest
    3) I say Temp, but I am biased. DK tank, Temp tank/healer/ NB DPS / Sorc DPS/healer) Very generic break down. They all have good points, best to decide what you want to do first, then pick the class.
    4) Sorc has summoned pets that fight for you.
    5) Yes there are different types of horses, each with their own bonuses.
    6) 1-50, week if you are hardcore. Yes the VR are 1M XP. There are still grind spots because yes yes yes...1M XP is a lot. 1-50 is equal to VR1-VR14 for XP (roughly.
    7) Yes, plenty of people for grouping, you just need to get out there and be active. Guilds would be the fastest way to link up.
    8) PVP is strong most times. Some campaigns are more active than others. I usually PVP 2-3 times a week and there is always something happening. On good nights, you will see population max for a campaign.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the nut house. Hope you enjoy the show. :p
Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

    1. March 17th for B2P
    2. Yellow/Gold for rarity
    3. No there isn't
    4. Sorc has summoned pets, but as for other pets no
    5. Currently there are, but in the future which horse you choose won't affect much since your riding skill determines the stats of the horse
    6. If you run through the main story for the whole game for your faction and clear each zone you should easily hit Vet Rank 1 by the time you're done
    7. Yes, I see new players a lot, and there's always groups doing dungeons
    8. PvP starts at lvl 10, you get scaled up in level to play while in Cyrodiil, however a scaled up player vs a normal ranked player will end in the normal player winning usual, so your best bet would be to finish the story first and then go into PvP. But that's just my input on that.

    6. Yes, from start to 50 can be done in a week if you play a lot. Veteran ranks -look- scary with the 1million expees, but... once you do hit the veteran ranks at or around the end of the mainstory, complete that and you can go cadwells, one map cleared there is each about worth one veteran rank in expees (nowadays anyhow). Or the cyrodil dailies, five towns with about ten daily quests each giving approximately 5000 XP per quest at veteran levels... good whenever you need some extra expees. Grinding is possible too, if you can stand the repetition.
Say, another two weeks to reach V11 in cadwells, then it gets a bit more difficult... but craglorn, cyrodil, dungeon runs and grinding will easily take you to V14 in another week if you have friends to do them with you. If not... solo play is also possibly, though a tad slower I suppose...
Sone hate cadwells, and go grind their veteran ranks on their own. Also possible to do, might even be faster if you find a good spot, but... no fun. Especially if yopu are making your first character, cadwells silver/gold will show you the other alliances stories, so it's a good thing to do. And in the near future, we will get the start of the champion system, which eventually will see the veteran ranks go entirely (likely the final phase will come somewhen in late summer/early fall, but that's just guesses at this point)

    8. PvP depends on the campaign server, which one is active, which one is fought over, and which one is static "buff server" where one side is sitting on their keeps and the others aren't populated enough to take them on.
If you start early in level, expect to respawn a lot, despite all buff. Still good to learn the mechanics, I started mine at the end of the mainstory, if you follow a group and pitch in, you will have kills and successes, even though you will still drop pretty quickly once an V14 focuses their ire on you. Still, you can earn your PvP ranks that way too, no need to wait until you hit the high veteran ranks to mix it up, just know what you'll be getting into.

The rest are already well covered, methings ;)

And I like playing in NA servers, despite being from europe. True, most activity there happens when its night here. But... that is not exactly a bad thing for me... it means I can adjust my playtimes. Do I want activity? Play late at night. Do I want to do cyrodil dailies with less chance of lag/gankers, or to hunt for crafting materials and treasure chests without much competition? Play during the day when most of the NA people are sleeping.

    1) March 17th.
    2) Orange/Gold.
    3) It all depends on how you play really. DKs are brilliant tanks while Templars are amazing DDs. Update 6 is on the horizon which does a huge rebalancing of stats, numbers and classes. Sorc is a no-go if you want to fulfill just one role, as they're a class suited to several roles at once.
    4) Yes but only sorcerers have access to them. There are vanity pets but they don't help in combat
    5) Yes. There's the Imperial Horse and a whole variety of different coloured ones. When B2P arrives we will have Guar mounts, Tiger mounts and fiery horses.
    6) 1-50 should take about 150 hours worth of playtime. It took me about a month-ish to get to 50, and I play for about 4 hours a day. To get from 50-VR14 took me about 3-4 months.
    7) Definitely! The game's population is bustling and you will have absolutely no problem finding groups for dungeons or raids.
    8) There are usually about 2-3 full PvP servers at prime time. You can start PvPing at Level 10 but I'd advise you go to the Blackwater Blade server, as only Non-Veteran characters can play and thus you won't get owned by a max-leveled player with powerful gear. When you get to VR, go to Thornblade as it's generally the most populated.

Nightblade have great synergy with that playstyle. You can go invisible, summon Shades to do your bidding too. Spooky.
There is also a morph so you can summon two [yes two, 100% more spooky] Shades or the second morph which allows the Shade you summon to exchange places with you, teleport. Spooky? Exactly.

With the 1.6 on the horizon. Nightblade rangers will be even more fun and practical.

^^^ This. I would simply add that one of my very favorite characters is a Bosmer ranger who uses a bow exclusively and relies on veiled strike/assassin's blade and their morphs for close combat. She isn't having any problem with staying alive. :)

depends on your version of a Ranger. if you mean old EQ/ AD&D type Ranger, then you could do a hybrid build with a Templar, use DW /Bow, medium armor , 5 med/2 light, 5 magnus, 4 torg pact or another set up and split stats for a rounded build like 2200 mag/1900 stam. or 2200 stam 1900 mag and be ranged melee dps with heal support .

Either way will have to see what changes after they patch 1.6 .

Could be anything. Overclocking, heat, bad stick of RAM, driver issue, outdated addons, anti-virus, etc.....
