It would be nice if we could plant and grow flowers for alchemy

I don't know, maybe a new skill line, like farming? Be able to grow flowers for alchemy, and maybe grow food for provisioning?

I would guess that would be something that might come with housing. But it's still a little problematic. How often will plants/food grow back? What will we be able to grow, and what will be off-limits? How big could a farm be? Where would it go?

There are a whole bunch of hurdles to jump before a system like that could be remotely workable.

If they add housing, it will be a good option, to make your own farm. :]
    Still waiting for Sithis.

This! This is exactly what I was thinking... I would so love this!

    Absolutely!

Having a little farm where we can grow stuff for provisioning, plants for alchemy etc. would be amazing. The MMO we don't speak of has this since a while and its amazing. You harvest your fields once a day and don't have the nasty search anymore, especially since you can never win vs. bots and addon users.

If this was implemented with housing, it would actually give me reason to participate in a housing system.

Would really like to see the list of Alchemy ingredients expanded to have more effects and more reagents though; particularly as drops.

Bone meal from Skeletons; Daedra Hearts; Sabre Cat and Senche Tiger pieces.
Would really love to see Alchemy get some expanded uses.

Would really love to see poison crafting as a utilizable practice.

They've talked about poisons in the past, but I haven't heard many specifics. My educated guess would be that poisons would come in to play with the Dark Brotherhood.

Yeah, I remember it coming up back during Beta.
Just like to poke at it from time to time to make sure it stays in people's minds.

Would be cool to have in housing. My favorite places to call home in the previous TES were the places that had a really cool/magical looking inner garden.

Adding housing to the game should be relatively easy, if they add a housing building in each major town, then instance each home.

Adding things to your home, such as a garden for farming, could be done in the instance. It's been done in other games. Shouldn't be too hard.

Depends on how detailed they want it or how much they want to phone it in. Simply adding a door in a few cities that is everybody's personal home is a bit "phone in" compared to what we saw in hearthfire. Even if it's not as complicated as hearthfire I hope they don't just make an "everybody's house" system.

None of those hurdles are significant ones. A focused team of decision makers could hash out a of those issues in an hour or less. Designing and coding the solutions would require more time but your questions are not time-consuming or problematic ones at all.

IMO the game doesn't need more ways for people to opt out of it's economy

I don't know how making everyone self-sufficient would help the economy. Prices would plummet.

That's pretty much what happened in Wildstar because of its gathering plugs in the player housing. People had access to absurdly easy income without leaving the home instance, and prices of materials were so low that it was better to vendor most of them than try to sell on the AH.

The game we don't speak of has such a high demand on resources, either for crafting specific things or trading them vs. shop items, that I don't see why being self dependent in a small way could influence the economy much.

In theory, everyone can already supply him / herself in ESO. We don't need anyone, yet people trade ;)
