From what I understand no. Only XP will give champion points. But you will be gaining XP while doing things that you need to do to get Achievements. So say you are doing the Dolmen Achievement, well destroying 250 dolmens will grant you XP and will grant you Champion points. But not the Achievement itself.

Everything that gives you XP now, will give you xp for your champion point bar.

Dungeons, Quests, Crafting, opening chests, killing mobs etc.

ZOS stated during their Guild Summit panel that xp is the only way to earn champion points buuuuuut they also said they were looking at other things to help earn champion points as well (can only speculate on what actually goes through).

Yes, main point is that lots of stuff who gives achievements also give bonus xp like clearing an dungeon the first time. Exploring give xp but don't think the explore all location is zone achievement give bonus xp.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Short answer: no

Long answer: Imagine all the crying on forums when we are not credited for the achievements we did 8 months ago. No, achievements will not progress your champion points in any way, only xp does.

Achievements grant a small amount of XP, so they'll contribute to champion points.

    No.

XP grants CP. Achievements are entirely separate.

Here's a novel idea, how about they release some serious content, not 2/3 of a zone 1 month, then 4 months later release the other 1/3. How about they release 1 zone in 1 update, not 2 like their history has shown.

Since when? I've never gotten any XP from completing an achievement. They're not related. Achievement points aren't XP.

Some achievements do grant XP (always have), particularly the vet dungeon achievements.

I've never seen my XP bar move up from an achievement in a vet dungeon. I've certainly seen it move up after completing a vet dungeon or the quest for a vet dungeon. But not for the dungeon achievement itself.

This should definitely not be the case.

There are players that just enjoy certain parts of the game. Some people just pvp or grind up to max level to participate in trials.

If achievements gave XP the amount for the time spent should be minimal compared to other activities like questing/pvp/dungeons.

I agree with this. It's the completion of the Activity that grants both the XP and the achievement, there's no XP directly from the achievement itself.

Some achievements will award around 140 XP. You'll see it if you have loot drop, or a similar addon installed. But the amount is negligible, and most achievements don't add any. It might have to do with getting access to dyes. Also some things like consuming dwemer pages can award tiny slivers of XP.
