Was wondering today why dont i have the 3k material refined dye yet.. Then i checked my achievments and noticed that my character who has been active from almost the lauch day, does not even have achievment for 300 materials refined yet...

In other hand i am quite sure i have refined more than 140 raw materials... I mean in last couple of days alone, have i estimated about 70 birch, 30 jute, 60 Calcinium, 180 rawhide and so forth...

Something does not add up in here...

Since the achievement was added, how many times have you hit the refined button?
For the 3000 material refined achievement, you have to hit the button 3000 times so that's 30,000 raw resources required.

Its per button click, not per process resource gained.

1 refinement = 10 raw mats, so for 3000 u need refine 30000 raw mats (do the process 3k times)

Refining a stack of raw mats only gets you about 30 points towards that achievement. It sucks, takes forever and the lame dye is not worth it. :(

So the actual dewscription of that achievment is totally wrong.. No 3k raw materials but hit the button 3k times.

As for dyes.. Many of them kinda suck since they are not really that drastic at all.. Mostly tints you apply.

I wish that aplying Windhelm steel would actually turn that part of metal in armor to look like that steel. Not tinted metal of some odd origin..

More so if we go white or other light colors.. They dont really work in many pieces at all.. Have to use dfaarker colors to get something that looks like "Quality armor"

I'd have to check, but from what I remember it isn't actually wrong, just misleading. It sounds like it just means refining individual materials, but it really means refining sets of 10.

Some of the rare dyes actually do that. Atmoran Bronze makes leather look like it's corroded metal, for example. Also, some of the rare dyes will actually mute metal into a matte, like (I think) Liar's Linen and Cold Harbour Ash Black.

Coldharbour ash black, yes, this really gives nice matte look to armor :)

What i am now looking for is something that would actually make stuff look more like a traditional steel armour does.. Windhelm steel in other hand makes my Imperials level 16 armor look a bit too dark to my liking and i dont like the "worn" look many armour has.. I think using resins and stuff like that should also gradually increase the quality of metalwork, skill as well so that the better is your skill and more you improve that piece of armor, the better it looks..

The armors turn brighter and flashier at higher levels. You really can't make much with dyes on level 16 stuff. Also some medium armors take dye hardly at all at any level.
