I have done it like 10 times and have 5 pieces (2 light , 2 med 1 heavy)
So make the calcs for how many you will need for a specific 5 set one.

I've been playing since beta. Had maybe 4 purple drops to me since then. It's merely the luck of the draw.

I completely agree with you there. Not only does it take some groups multiple attempts to kill the bosses, the loot pretty much sucks. Not everyone can go through a dungeon and one shot the boss. Even some of the best groups out there have issues at time.

It's even more frustrating when the bosses aoe effects hit you when you aren't in the perimeter. The final boss in CoH yesterday was damaging people outside of the red aoe circle. It really ticks you off when you think you've escaped that spell because it clearly shows your out of it only to take the damage as well. You basically just wasted your time trying to escape it in the first place!

I have done VCoH and VCoA many times on multiple characters. VCoA has never dropped the 2pc helm for me and I farm it 3+ times a night. Been doing this since December. Apparently I just have bad RNG luck.

I remember helping a guildie farm the helmet for hours, daily. I got it three times before he got it once. Definitely some people have bad RNG. Purples drop frequently though for our group, no problems there.

And i wasnt even talking about the set pieces...literally no pieces of purple dropped from any boss...

This is latency. Basically your client is not communicating with the server in real time. So effectively you aren't actually out of the red circle as far as the server is concerned because it has placed and moved the lich crystals before it even shows on your screen.

It IS super annoying, but at least you know why it happens.

We used to get pretty good drops from CoA when it first came out, but recently it has been pretty lackluster. I wonder if they tinkered with the drop rate at all... idk. I do think it's a shame that if you run a trial, you are guaranteed a piece of good gear (2 if you place a good time) but not guaranteed even an average piece in a 4 man vet dungeon.

The dungeon takes a fair amount of time to complete and the helm only drops from the final boss which stinks since other helms drop on like the second boss in. You shouldn't have to do this dungeon 20 times and still get zero drops. I wanna say I've done it 40 times and still no helm and rarely even a purple drop from the final boss. I have been getting blue staves and swords.

When you do finally get it, just pray that it's the armor type you want. They're removing sturdy (I think), but exploration, well-fitted, and training are still definite possibilities.

Yeah, I always forget about that part. Lovely Xfinity(Comcast) I have to deal with. Google Fiber Optic can't get here soon enough!

Isn't the fact the dungeon took 2 hours your fault, not Zeni's? It can be run much faster...

Thats not true, most of the helms drop off the last boss, or at least its spread out rather equally between different bosses (depending on if you skip).

There are plenty of people who have farmed CoA for 100+ hours with no Skoria helm or full Spellweave set to show for it.

I have found that doing dungeons lets say at vr1-5 you get allot more drops
We did a Vr12 and then Vr1 version of vet BC and result was:

VR12: 2 Trash Purples
VR1: 1 Worm Cult ; 1 Savior ; 1 Ebon ; 2 Head Drops ; 5 Trash Purples

This same hepens for other dungeons and i dont know why.

Because you will outlevel the lower Vet stuff fast, and you don't outlevel the vet 12 so much.

They could at least make so that you can upgrade sets that have VR1 and VR12 versions in crafting
Lets say a special upgrade item could be found when mining that using it would give +VR level on that piece up to the higher dropable version

Bcoz diminishing returns are still in game....
You get lower drop rate of items if you are higher level then mob you kill. This was in game since patch 1.2 and i im pretty sure still there in patch 1.6 even thou they said that they removed deminishing returns (proly the meant something else).

You do. I have 7 helms. It's just bad luck. We all have it: I have *never* received a pair of Aether Gloves and that trial has been out since, what, June?

That being said, I have always felt people should get a guaranteed sweet choice of loot for their *first* completion of difficult content. Because the first time you beat Vet DSA, you shouldn't some crappy VR14 destruction gloves.

sometimes you can go 3-4 runs without a single good drop then you'll drop 2 healer rings & locket of footman, it's random but still mostly worth it on the long run.

Don't complain, I did over 100 runs, took over a week, and I couldn't get the Skoria helm to drop.

All veteran dungeon type content needs to be addressed. There is absolutely no reason that blank blue-green pieces are dropped in dungeon runs. It isn't as if we'll wear this garbage, they designed the game to make Crafting and Specialized gear the top of the line.

At the very least, fix the drop rates. If they had to I'd put up with creating a form of currency (I mean they do it for PvP gear after all) that I could earn to buy the stuff I want (I'd even put up with having to improve it myself), but blanks of any quality lower than gold need to just not happen. At least if we got blank gold pieces we'd be able to decon them for something worthwhile.

I make the feedback suggestion for that every time I do a dungeon and get junk.
