Non account wide bank for characters personal use. Yes or no?

My proposition is, that in addition to current account wide banking system, we should also have a personal bank space for each character. This bank would have 50 slots by default and is upgradeable with the same cost and benefits as the current account wide bank. Maximum amount of slots for characters personal bank would be 100 slots.

This could help us to keep characters that have their personal crafting skills to keep their own reagents in own bank.

I for example, have one character for enchanting and alchemy, he could keep his runes and herbs in his own bank instead of wasting space on his own bag or account bank. For this character, i just keep runes in his bags since my bank is now full of clothing, smithing and woodworking stuff and some equipment i wish to keep for research purposes.

Why the same price as the account wide upgrades? Because i think there has to be costs and drawbacks if you wish to hoard more stuff.. Maximum slot number is also important, there has to be cap of how much you can save. If people just hoard stuff in their banks, the market will not eventually work well.

    Yes for personal banks
As i forgot to put this in description i put it here, this characters personal bank would work the same way as account wide bank. You can use all the stuff that is banked straight from the bank at any crafting station, just like you always have done.

Seems unnecessary; all you need is more bag space.

(Edit: Also, you accidentally created this twice. You may want to ask a mod to close the other one.)

    Bank Space Management Tips

And my personal opinion: there are enough bank space. 50 lvl all crafting, collector but still have free inventory and bank spece (without horse, bank space not maxed).

There is more than enough bag and bank space in this game. Yes, it's expensive, but it's one of the only gold sinks in the game. Usually the players that ask for things like this are new players who try to craft everything at once and hoard everything they see even though they will probably never have a use for it.

Between bag space, bank space, and horses, you can have a total of 1,600 slots. That's far more than you will ever use. I do every craft on a single character and I have more than enough space. The longer you play, the more gold you get. Eventually you will be able to afford maximum bank and bag space.

The only games where I see a purpose for a personal bank are ones that allow other players to steal items from you (either before or after killing you) because in that situation it's a very bad idea to have all your characters gold or useful items in their bag, just in case.

(Although I should say I've not played a game like that since the early days of Ultima Online, I have no idea if they've now invented other systems to protect items and gold you don't want stolen.)

Otherwise your personal bank is your bag.

Yes, but only if there's still an easy way to transfer items to other characters (such as a separate account-wide bank along with individual banks).

I was thinking about why should we have it and I've only came up with the idea of playing on "shared" account with your relatives/friends. You know, that way you can't sell or waste others' resources. But "sharing" account is against the TOS, so you can't do this anyway.

And I can't think of other reasons to do this, except for a lack of bank space, but it's not a problem with private/shared banks.

    Mmmmm... It's called inventory space.

Right now, if Character A has something Character B needs:

    - Log into Character A
    - Put item in bank
    - Log into Character B
    - Grab item

If instead you have to first take it out of your character bank and then put it in your account bank, things get complicated after a while.

I think all that would be necessary is a drop down accessible by right clicking an item/stack that reads "select item owner" with the option to choose which of your characters owns and controls that item. Then a toggle in options to "hide items owned by other characters".

I'm all for more bank space that is shared actually which would pretty much make the need for individual space uneccesary - let alone the need to cycle through alts to find which one had the thing I meant to store.

More account wide bag space please.
Most people who currently struggle with space have to resort to using shell guilds (500 extra spaces) or the mail system to store gear.

Let me break it down for you as to why I need more bank space. The max bank space is 240.

I have 8 vet chars and I play all of them. I don't need there bags cluttered with stuff every time I want to hop on and play one of them.

They all have around 110 bag space with a fast mount it only takes an hour or so of questing to fill these spaces and then I have to stop, hit a vendo and bank to empty them again.

So I try to keep their bags as empty as I can.

The bound items I get from top tier content fill up quite a bit of space. Hel ra AA and DSA are all terrible with this. I Have to keep rare set items my healer does not use because I'll put on my other characters when they level and there is no way to reaqire them easily. (Bop sucks btw).

If I saved just 1 bop set for each of my characters with 2 weapons that would be 96 spaces already.

    Pvp gear
siege weapons, potions, soul gems all swallow a ton of room.

    Also I do all crafts.

As a guild leader I am relied upon to help out my fellow players and guild members.

    WW, BS and clothing...

To this end I need to keep a stack of each material at each lvl so I can make gear for players I help out. There are 9 types each for cloth, med armor, heavy armor and wood. (That's around 36) spaces. Plus some raw bits of each I gather as I play. (Another 36 spaces)

Add that to keeping some of each trait stone (16) and style mats (15).

Plus some upgrade mats hemming etc... 4 per type.(that's another 12 spaces)

That's a total of 117 spaces right there.

    Now enchanting...
    Potency stones...28
    Aspect... 4
    Essence... 17

    Total
    49 more spaces

    Alchemy....

    reagents... 18
    Solvent...6

    Provisioning....
Wow not even going to try... You get the picture.

Not to mentions pets, trophies, lockpics, fish, bait and other rare items.

So in conclusion, no way is that going to fit in 240 bank spaces. Please give us more space in our account wide banks :)

There is a chest inside the bank. At my faction its under the stairs. This chest could serve as a personal storage system with 100 slots. I would be totally fine if that box would only take ingredients and raw materials.

Not sure if this is possible to design, but I think it could be a decent place holder until we get housing with owned boxes.
