Console Questions

Greywolf_McGrowler
When the Beta comes out for the consoles will those that registered for the beta last year have to re-register for the beta again?

Will there be a digital version to download off of the microsoft or playstation store? If so will there be an imperial edition available to download as well?

Also will it be available to download before launch so that we can play when the servers go live?

Will we be able to buy ESO plus from the microsoft or playstation store?

That's all the questions that I have at the moment that hasn't been already answered else where. These questions I haven't been able to find.

Can't answer for sure, but here's my speculatory understanding:
When the Beta comes out for the consoles will those that registered for the beta last year have to re-register for the beta again?
Theoretically not, as that was supposed to be a sign-up for both console and PC/Mac betas.
Will there be a digital version to download off of the microsoft or playstation store? If so will there be an imperial edition available to download as well?
Most likely. Even if the Imperial Edition is not available directly from the XBL or PSN store, and only the Standard Edition is, the Imperial Upgrade will still be available in-game from the Crown Store.
Also will it be available to download before launch so that we can play when the servers go live?
That depends on whether M$/Sony will allow preloading of ESO. Quite likely I think, particularly considering there is supposed to be console beta testing, which will require the client being downloaded before launch.
Will we be able to buy ESO plus from the microsoft or playstation store?
The only question for which I have no basis for an answer. I guess it depends on how ZOS want to sell it; since it will be applied to your ESO account, and not anything related to XBL/PSN, it may be more likely that it will be bought from here. But if Crowns will be sold in those stores, then there's no reason ESO Plus wouldn't be as well.

Hopefully my unsourced speculations are at least mildly useful :)

Thanks for the response. Though was hoping that there was an official announcement to some of the questions somewhere I missed

MMORPG.com: How will console players become Tamriel Unlimited members? Will they be able to access that via the console or will they need to go to the account setup via a computer?

A: They will be able to become members through the PSN and XBL ESO stores.

Taken from the interview of Matt Firor on MMORPG mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/821/feature/9423/Tamriel-Unlimited-Freedom-to-Play-Pay-The-Way-You-Want.html

A little cryptic but I read that response to mean you can purchase anything account related (so game, Imperial edition and subscription) from the console stores.
PUG Life - the true test of your skill

18 characters, 17 max level, at least 1 Stam and 1 Mag of every class, 1 of every race and 1200+ CP

Tanked to Undaunted 9+ Mag and Stam of every class using Group Finder for 90+% of the Vet Dungeon runs

There was a Xbox One and PS4 specific BETA sign up that occured after the PC beta signup form was updated.
If you signed up for PC and recall answering a lot of questions during the sign up, that was PC only.

Months later, the BETA sign up only asked for basic info, like name, email address, platform(s)
This was the console BETA sign up that did require any PC user to sign up again if you wanted PS4 or Xbox One BETA consideration.

    All are now closed...

Digital - yes, actually those transferring over from PC (the $20 deal) is digital only.
The digital game will be on Xbox one and PS4 for non $20 deal customers.

Pre-download will be platform specific...I would say yes because there will be BETA access. BETA won't have a pre-download but the digital game will if it's a pre-order title. Once each console solidifies their respective release dates, we should soon see the game in each consoles store. You will also see the crowns or season pass/subscription options. Not sure how they will word these.

    ESO plus -yes
It will fall under a Xbox or psn subscription, seperate from PC subs.
Also any crowns earned on the PC sub will not transfer over to console.
So if you have a PC account that is eligible for a copy to console, spend the crowns prior to the copy and put the items in your inventory and not the mail

A new question I was thinking about is:

Are crowns universal to your account? In other words if you have 1000 crowns will you have that same balance on the PC or a console?

For example, if you spend let's say 900 on a mount on a console that would leave you 100 crowns left to spend on either PC or console.

or are crowns just attached to just your account on the PC or just your account on console.

I've looked on the FAQ but didn't see anything on there except about buying things with crowns being attached to the server and it didn't talk about if the crowns would be universal throughout servers.
