Mobile Companion

Hello fellow champions and ZoS staff.

Is there any works in progress that includes Mobile Companion App for Windows , iOS or Android ?

That would be really good if we were able to manage our Guild Traders , Trait Timers , Feeding Mounts , to be able to Craft etc.
Almost all games that released after 2014 got some kind of app to let people interact with the game without opening their PC / Mac.
Why not mmo's would be different ?

There is an APP for Rift for example , doesnt do much but still something. You collect stuff that helps you buy items etc.

I think ZoS could do a better one. With all the support they get from players.

Someone was doing some Companion app for Android not sure what is the status on that.

However the things you mention are not possible to add into it. You cannot do anything remotely in game or view any data. Basically what people most likely will be doing is some databases of maybe recipies, craft info, mobile build planner and other informations which do not require login to the game.

I'm sure it's purely security reasons that ZOS doesn't allow outside login to the game.

How is that "not possible" ? Like i said , Rift got a companion app that makes you login your accout , then your character.
You can chat in-game with your guild , you can manage some stuff , even gain items.

    So that is possible.
And why security reasons ? They dont even let you login to website without entering the access code , same thing will happen for companion app.

Well yes generally it is possible.

With ESO it is not possible as ZOS doesn't allow such thing. So currently it is not possible to write mobile app that would access your in game char and other in game stuff.

For clarification, what I believe @Syntse is refering to is 3rd part app creators cannot make anything which logs in. ZOS COULD make something like that since they have access to internal mechanics and what not.

I'm a bit confused on the point "Almost all games that released after 2014 got some kind of app to let people interact with the game", yet using Rift as an example, which released in 2011.

Still, much like many of the ideas posed, I think it would be great in theory, presuming they pull it off competently. Not to mention
And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. All that is left, is whispers of the adventures they had.

    :)
Rift is just a MMO example , i meant MMO's can do that too :) and that Mobile App released last year i guess. Cant remember the exact date.
What i meant is companion apps are now common with new games. ( common among big developers at least )
