Let's have some more skills

It's just a point of view, but I can't help feeling that skills points are far too easy to come by for the amount of skills available. When we start out it we pick a race and class and get 3 skill lines for a class and one for race which adds individuality, but the skills only morph once and can be quickly maxed out.

When we reach the middle veteran levels we seem to have acquired so many skills points that we can start to max out pretty much everything; it feels as if, rather than character diverging and becoming more individual and unique as they progress through the game, characters actually converge and become more 'standardised' as everything gets maxed out.

I'd love to see a load more skills and morphs per skill to allow players to develop really unique characters; class specific guilds might also be an option for more skills line.
I am one of The Great Mediocracy, those whose role in life is to provide the baseline by which The Few deem themselves Great.

IMO it would be cool if they added 5 more skills to each weapon line. 10 skills per weapon would be nice to balance the amount of class skills everyone can choose from.

P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

I would like to see more than 1 morph for skills. I know that when you max out the basic skill you get the option to morph it to one of two upgrades but I would like for there to be a further option to morph your choice a stage further when that gets maxed too

More skills would be very nice. <3 What about a class morph? It would be cool to have a class morph to allow a whole new range of skills and it should be hard to achieve. Proabably create a whole quest line and set amount of champ points as a prereq to class morph. Just another goal to strive for.

For example, morph a templar to either do group heals by draining or using dead bodies and use dead bodies as allies(necromancer) or morph it to a class is a pure healer/buffer class. OR make a nightblade that is more focused on stealth hiding and evasiveness, maybe give a 10sec cloak or skills that can instantly move behind opponents and give them more crit when attacking from behind and make another that just pure damage poison, bleed and critical damage. Maybe make a DK that dark magic based or ice based or continue down the fire based path. Make all the dark magic path skills drain, dot and paralyze/sleep and make the fire path burn and dps.

Imagine if you can remorph all 15 skill's a different way based on your play style. Also why stop there? Weapons should be able to morph with these classes as well. For example; Snipe for a stealth class would either put you back in stealth after the hit or snipe or do a double arrow snipe while in stealth or hidden. The other morph of snipe would ber arrow that goes staright through oppoents and hitting anyone behind them or sacraficing snipes distance to reduce skill time by 50%.

This would be awesome and another way of offering variety as well as individualism and it would renew ESO's class system and give people something to evolve towards. <3

Good point with an easy fix. Disassemble the class system. Have the characters pick from any skill line.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

I would like to see more skill lines myself. I posted some notions in other threads...
    - new weapon lines like polearms, sword&sorcery or unarmed...
    - utility skill lines similar to the upcoming "legerdemain", acrobatics for added sprinting, maybe redo swimming for it too, etc.
    - "class morphs" adding a fourth class skill line (pick one outa two or three)...
    - more guilds (I guess that will be coming with TG and DB, but... I'd also like a bardic guild with magical music skills...)
    - possibly even a "diety" skill line (pick one power to worship out of the whole pantheon, aedra, daedra, whatever)

While a "classless" ESO -would- have been better, I'd say that ship has sailed and sunk a long time ago. I can't really see them completely rebuilding the whole system at this point... even the in comparison small scale rebuild from veteran levels to champion system seems to take up more resources (and thus push back new content further) then any of us would have liked...

    Agreed.

With the ludicrously limited number of skills we can slot in comparison to the total number we get (a resuly of the PC game being designed with a console UI) we don't need yet more that we can't use, far better to provide more morphs for the one we already have.

There musn't be more weapon types, but more weapon skills.

They added 2 new skills for each AvA line, why not for every weapon / class? Would make the game better in every way due to more options.

And I would like to see weapon ultimates. Is there a real reason why they're missing?

Yes but the thing that limits all those skill points is the ability bar restriction. The difference between this and other MMO's is that you don't have to respect to make a new build.
