Ever play SWG? Star Wars Galaxies?
Think of Patch 1.6, as Star Wars Galaxies NGE, it took a few years to rebalance, the game lost a lot of people and eventually shut down, I'm not saying Patch 1.6 is that game breaking, but in 6 months time when people have grinded out 600-1000 Champion Points, it'll be horribad.
I got out of the cell and had to loot a body to get a weapon (play how you want) and was force upon a 2
handed sword, on wards and up wards I fingered I soon find the weapon I wanted, got mostly matts for cooking
and light armor bits, finally a green dagger, just need one more so I can train duel weld, ended up with a shield and using
one handed and dagger (playing in first person that 2 hander block half the screen) buy the time I left into the main world
I had a heap of armor and cooking matts so I head off to look for recipes and maybe repair my gear with 50 gold in my kick.

Right because as soon as your plopped in the world your up against every high level playing in alliance zone ganking you while you try to level to end game?
Also SWG wasn't a rebalance it was a complete overhaul of the system to mimic everquest.

Nah it won't shut down, but it'll be heavily unbalanced, especially in PvP. Someone who has 600 or more champion points will absolutely destroy someone who has none and just started the game, the game itself won't be bad, heck I love ESO. But the introduction of the champion system is going to create a very very very large gap between old players and new players, and that gap is going to need some work in the PvP section.

Doesn't matter, the CP basically is an overhaul of the game, as well as all the fixes and changes to skills. Given it isn't anything on the SWG but still, and as for the PvP segment of my argument, and yes, for those people that just got the game and are PvPing, they'll be at a huge disadvantage, the PvE aspect won't be any different but the people just starting are going to be like cotton candy for the Veteran Rank mobs while the veteran players will fly through it like a leaf on the wind.
Awesome for the Firefly reference?
Do they really force you into using a 2h sword? Would be interesting to see what ZOS have given as a reason for that. Something to do with 2h being one of the few viable ways to play the game effectively in 1.6, I guess.
I think Op is referring to the economy and earning gold. The games economy was always going to change with the coming changes. Not only the justice system but changes to provisioning and itemization. In my opinion this is a much needed change too because currently the economy is rubbish. Only time will tell how well it works out.

I was there in SWG from beta through the pre-cu the cu the nge 1.6 might be a big gamer changer in some way but it is not doing anything like the nge where they took a sandbox swg and turned it into a theme park game, they are not changing ESO in that way.
I guess it all depends on how you look at the game, I am in the middle waiting to see how things really work after they launch, I try not to speculate to much on what I think it will be like heck it could turn out to be another nge, but I don't see that in what I read, but time will tell, to me the big question is am I still having FUN, if the game becomes no fun then it is time to move on.

Storage and armor damage are the most annoying things and stupidly designed things in this game.
Loads of people complained about it in beta....they did not listen.
Loads of people complained about it at launch....they did not listen.
Loads of people left the game and those two things were on the lists of reasons why.....they still did not listen.
People come back to the game and complain about it again. They add some collectibles tab and increase stack size but still no lowering costs of storage or the rapid destruction of your armor for no reason.

No, they fixed the rapid armor deterioration. That was actually a bug. It still degrades, but it's nowhere near as destructive as it was near launch.

It's still really bad for me. It degrades as soon as it is repaired even when taking no damage within 30 mins of playing you have huge repair bills.

Armor degradation originates from receiving Combat XP, not taking damage. This was one of the most obnoxious things about the "l2p" idiots when the issue was still there.
So, if you're fighting enemies, your gear will degrade a bit. If you're just grinding content, you'll see more deterioration, particularly if you're just grinding out a delve or someplace similar. If it's enemies in a quest, then that shouldn't be happening, and you should probably contact support, in case you're somehow still suffering increased deterioration rates.
