I'd vote for petitioning to get back a sincere "Disagree".
Being babysit, fluff all around us, with some "angels" deciding that the word "Disagree" is too harsh, too politically incorrect and could hurt some ego: this is getting so OLD.
If somebody is controversial or just an utter moron, just let people vote their disagreement.
I can count to potato.

So If I said that your post was insightful (via button), how would anyone know whether I was being sarcastic or sincere? They wouldn't in most circumstances and it would just be a waste of time trying, regardless of whether or not it is the optimum thing to do anyway. Mechanisms to quickly approve/disapprove via one-click have proven to be effective at collecting information. But they're only a gauge of sentiment at best (still useful for a social understanding).jamesharv2005ub17_ESO wrote: »Here is hoping the mods will crack down on people misusing the feedback buttons.

There's no need to replace something that shouldn't have filled that purpose in the first place. If you want to disagree with someone, then post your counter-argument. If you don't have a counter-argument, tough.
