Justice system: Should assaulters/murderers be attackable for short time?

In justice system, we get to attack people, murder them, steal from them..

Should players who attack an NPC be subject to other players attacking him/her to defend that NPC and peace of the area if they so choose?

My proposal is, that players who attack NPC should be subject to other players attacks for duration of combat and maybe about 15 seconds after that to add some sense to this behaviour? NPC that triggers this should be NPC humanoids (Shopkeepers, townspeople, guards etc and livestock)

I do not really know how much of a risk a guard will give to people who assault NPC but just in my point of wiev, standing next to townsfolk or livestock being murdered is not really anything pleasing if you are unable to do anything about it.. Whether it be aiding that player or aiding those NPC or livestock.

Later on they'll add the player interaction too as players can be law enforcers and will be able to try to bring down law breakers.

They've already stated that the PvP part of the Justice system won't be implemented for quite a while.

This was an intention for justice as some people seem to be very keen on being able to kill their allies :)

ZOS held off on PvP until all bugs that might allow griefing had been fixed so they may introduce it later.

Yes indeed, however i understand that they add sort of "Bounty hunter" option for players but that does not mean we are able to defend townspeople or livestock when the actual act of assault happens which in my mind should be part of the PVP part in the Justice system.

Sadly this is going to happen in phase 2, that's when the joy of world PVP comes to this game and we'll see the same desolation of NPC camps like WOW had 10 years ago.

I want to be an Enforcer when PvP comes out, but if you do not decide ''wich side'' to play for, you don0t have the right to kill others imho.

    This.
You should not be able to attack other players unless you are flagged for PvP as well.

Just take Living Game System from Ultima Online and implement to Elder Scrolls Online.
So we can play the best MMO ever created.

What mechanics are they going to add to keep a v14 player from camping at Daggerfall/Davon's Watch/Vulkhel Guard outlaw retreats? Or any of the other ones in the lower level zones?

I doubt they can come up with one. The moment the servers go live with players added to the justice system, ESO will turn into gankfest.

We've been discussing this on Tamriel Foundry,

Personally I really want the player enforcement component added, as does Atropos and many other people amongst our group. Sadly the Devs seem to be leaning away from it, at least for the time being. It could easily be skipped entirely unless enough people speak out about it.

I'll shamelessly plug the article lol: http://tamrielfoundry.com/2015/02/will-justice-be-enforced/

In any event make sure your voice on the matter is heard, wherever it might come up :)

(voted no - because I want the whole system implemented rather than an altered alternative.)

While I voted "Yes" on this, I do have reservations on how it will be implemented and what effect it will have on the game.

Two different play styles would come into conflict here. PVE/RP players who just want to have fun being a criminal would come up against PVP players who just want to have fun killing players. The character builds and skills may not even be compatible. PVE oriented players are not used to real-time combat. They are used to the slower-paced NPCs who pause between attacks and do not attack or defect optimally. They are probably not using the FoTM build and are not tuned for PVP.

They will be adding that later, once they are sure the PvE part works as intended.

The thing is, if you try to steal from some npc's they attack you and try to kill you. If you then kill them in self defense you can now be killed by some VR14 out to ruin your day.

This will kill any fun in the justice system for low level players and will only serve to stroke the ****s of antisocial gankers who love to make others miserable.

This is so obvious that its almost dumb to state this...

Ofcourse and naturally when you hit that player the first time, you will be automatically flagged as well.

People need to be able to defend NPC and livestock if they so choose, regardless the thing if they have chosen or not chosen to be enforcers/bounty hunters. It would just feel extremely unrealistic if you have to stand beside someone being attacked and can do nothing about it.

Also, please note, that "Combat level scaling" is one which is going to be implemented for any PVP stuff that is involved in Justice system so level is smaller matter than you may think.. Naturally Champions will be stronger but at least people have chance.

Also not that if players can just attack any NPC they want without real consequence at the spot, we will see empty camps, towns and places where everyone is killed, just because they can. As i understand the PVP part system (The litle i have read about it) You will have to first claim some sort of flag from some NPC before you can start hunting a fugitive so at that point the system has no counter for immediate defense if NPC is attacked. I do hope i am wrong though.

Also, if people will be attackable at all times, this will just result in ganking and people not really wanting to participate in the activities as much as they would otherwise. Justice system should also be fun, not something that bunch of gankers can exploit.

Way I understand it is that its already eventually planned to let players support lawmen and attack those with a high enough bounty, but it is a feature that comes in the second or later phase of the justice system.

Though from what I heard from some people all guards apparently get buffed to be able to stand up to if not beat vet players in a straight 1v1 encounter.

I'm still wondering though if pcs could help guards and npcs indirectly via aoe heals and stuff since they'd still be a friendly to you.

    Don't be an idiot.
The player that is enforcing should already be flagged as PvP not after the event
Or is this a case of I don't want to be at risk unless I see the other player is a certain kill.

This isn't a terribly relevant poll, since this is already a planned feature of the Justice System. Player guards will be implemented in a future update.

Voted yes in spirit of wanting PvP in the Justice system.

ZOS is making statements that sound like they may pull the plug on PvP in the Justice System. Remember this is something they stated will be free. In other words they won't see immediate returns from it. The passionate creators of this game aren't the same ones that call the shot.

Be loud people, don't let them use the carrot and stick approach.

Have you tested or watched any info on the current justice system at all or just assuming things based on previous knowledge. One cannot kill every single NPC in towns, there are enough guards that will notice that if you try to kill every killable NPC in town and the guards are invincible.
