Is 1.6 going to make AvA nightmare for VR1

So I just hit vr1 and really don't want to grind or quest another 200-300 hrs atm to hit vr14, and AvA is hard at vr1 but still fun.

However when 1.6 drops in a week or so I'm guessing it will be impossible as not only will the veteran ranks still be in (gear disadvantage) but we will also have a 60-70 champion point system working against us .

This will be really frustrating especially for the new players that hit vr1 a few weeks after tamriel unlimited goes live.

On the other hand it will be great for you guys sitting at VR 14.

P.s this isn't a complaint thread you guys earned VR14 and deserve to be more powerful than a vr1 obviously, I'm just wondering if I am overestimating the affect of the champion system and curious to what the more experienced players think.

ZO should just add a bracket for VR1-6, 7-13, 14.

The combination of CPs and VRs will make pvp a nightmare for everyone not Rank 14 right now.

I guess they can't add brackets... I am assuming there won't be enough players to fill the lower ones.

    That's it.

If they add brackets, there won't be enough players left.

They just should scale everybody to VR14 without the "equip" bonus.

Now that champ points are in, I could see that.

Been thinking that for a long time. Still can get crafted gear sets then for lower levels as well that aren't so bad. Just slightly lower stats than the VR14

Part of me sympathises but part of me says all us on VR14 had to quest or grind our way there too so just do it like we had to.

You will need epic grind for CP anyway. When you reach VR14 you will be just under 1% of the way through the endless CP grind.

On the plus side the changes in 1.6 gimp so many skills and builds while adding some crazy new OP ones you will be on a level with most anyway while we try and figure out how to play again.

This could be true indeed, maybe they should then just disable the CP´s and Rank bonus in AvA?

So everyone can be the same.

    I guess people wouldn't like that a lot :(

My issue isn't about the VR grind but the fact that the very system their introducing to replace it and bring old players back and keep possible new players, could be detrimental to the game, especially AvA as now both systems will be a hurdle for new players.

Also once 1.6 comes won't new VR characters earn cp at half the rate as they are currently?

I would personally like that a lot. That and burning this horrible system to the ground altogether. But yeah, both things won't happen unfortunately.

Well if you are looking at it without having tried the PTS, then it may appear this daunting. However, general consensus from PTS is that VR14 skills are getting nerfed, and are replaced with the CP. So really what you have is VR14 characters will be about (and I use this term loosely) where they are at now after they apply the 70Cp. So VR14 will not be as badass as they are now + 70CP. (Which would be a huge gap indeed)

However, yes there is still going to be a gap. Yes, you will have to work 2X's as hard for the CP (rate goes up to 400K after 1.6). And yes, there will be the "gear disadvantage" with the VR14 and the new VR1.

Lastly....it isn't "great" for us at VR14. We will need to relearn a lot of things as the new system is making stamina more viable, they are changing the armor system, so many people will change what they wear, skilled are getting "nerfed" to "balance" the system, so we will need to figure out how to distribute the 70Cp to "hopefully" maintain our current "power levels". It isn't all gravy, for either side. I believe the system will still have a gap between players, but I do not think it will be as big as you think either.

EDIT: To add that this "opinion" is from only a small amount of time that I have spent on the PTS. Nothing I said should be taken as "fact". They are just my opinion from my testing and from what others I know have said about their time on the PTS.

Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

This is true. It's not exactly that the 70 CPs come on top of an existing pre-patch VR 14 character, skills and gear sets have indeed been nerfed all across the board. But keep in mind that they have also been nerfed for VR 1 characters so that point does not exactly work in the favor of your argument.

This has been said 1000 times, threads with massive reasonments have been presented.

You actually missed the worst detail: in one year a new player will just be hopelessy-killed (whilst doing no damage to them) by those who play since game release AND since the CP grinding is insane, he won't ever be able to close the gap between him and the old players.

Just writing this, so I can link it 1 year down now, when our warnings shall have been ignored and the consequences will be evident.

I see your point but a large portion of VR14s were able to take advantage of grinding locations before XP nerfs took affect.

low level players that knows what they are doing( has lots of pvp experience on main for example) can go in ava, run seige/ oil/ give heals and be very effective, especially defending.

but you are right dont expect to charge in to a group of v14 with endgame gear and not get wrecked. everyone had to earn their way to the top, its not that different.

First it isn't really that much power, infact once your reach VR 14 believe me when I tell you would get more CP from the grind then the 70 for each constellation we get.

The ones that come up against the players that transferred from pc to console will mind it soon enough lol.
