Gods dammit to Oblivion, trying to become a low level vampire is AGGRAVATING

Strawberrycocoa
I dunno why the had to make it so difficult to become a vampire early in your adventure. I'm trying to kite them with Frost Staff but they keep either resetting or catching up to me. >_<

I got bit at level 4 and was unable to beat it until Level 16. Destructive touch with the inferno staff is what enabled me to survive long enough to kill 10 NPC's
That which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

There used to be some ranged builds that would let you run a vampire basically from the moment you got out of Cold Harbour. Though, I never knew the details.

OMG, so of course after making a gripe thread, I finally managed to get a kill on one, then the other right after. Unstable Wall (Frost) and Soul Trap, with occasional Swallow Souls (nightblade thing).

Eight more to go, by the Eight.

    Does Agony work on them?

hate to say it but both vamp an ww are easily achieved at lvl 10, the harder of the two been ww if your unlucky with the boss selection, which is again able to be gamed.

Did you not realize it is a L38 quest before you got bit? I roflstomped it with both a DK and Templar.

It's very annoying when the mobs bug out/reset, or do funky stuff with the terrain. Also annoying when knockbacks/stuns don't work.

What really helped me is just nuking, and using the vampire drain as a reset of the fight. I've done it on several characters and it is quite doable at level 12.

lvl 10, both ww and vamp completed, neither are hard, you just need to apply a little bit of common sense.

You also need to be willing to craft purples for the WW quest. :p

What I didn't realize was that the quest requires a solo dungeon intended for 40. I knew you could get bit at low levels, so I wanted to become a vampire. I knew it was in a 40 zone, but thought you just got the bite from a player went to the alter, and boom: vampire.

Well I was trying it at 6, took a break to level a bit, and trying it again at 8. Much easier than 6, although I attribute that to my use of a Frost staff instead of Fire.
    Does Agony work on them?

Yeah, just gotta be quick about flipping around to hit them with it before resuming kiting. It took me a few tries, but I got the pattern now. 4/10.

Eh, I was doing it blues at the time. I might be able to swing 10 in Blue at this point, if I felt the inclination. But I've already got 4 werewolves. :p

greens all the way for all 4 vamps and ww's, not a e-peen contest, i'm just pointing out the fact that it really is doable at the lowest lvls with some halfway decent gear.It really isn't some major achievement, just use common sense and the abilities we are all given and it is achievable.

If that's the case then you have proven my point, yes i am casual (is that an insult). Kudos on your legendary skills, you make us casuals the peons that we are. As for myself I only was stating the fact, that both quest-lines are achievable. Congrats on your undaunted skill of one-upmanship. W e all bow to you our master.

Wait, you're talking about frost troll juggling, aren't you? Yeah, I could never get the hang of that.

Its doable, just frustrating due to the miss chance. I've personally done Vampire at level 3 and WW at 6 (WW is way harder), others have as well. It'll take a few deaths per mob but its completely doable. You're essentially playing the RNG game hoping most/all of your attacks land.

The problem with Werewolf is, below about 16, you're just rolling to dice to connect before the stray damage snuffs you. Or juggling the Frost Troll... and if that's the case, I don't know how you guys do that.

Now all of my previous joking aside, how is it possible to even GET to the vampire quest and stay level 3? Even if a friend teleports you won't you level just "finding" the Bankorai wayshrine? Or do you only get XP for dungeons and cities and stuff?

EDIT: Scratch that, I just went and checked, NVMD

Lowest I've gotten either is 12 for Vamp and 17 for WW. Although I'm proud to say I beat the Brown Troll at 21 for the first time on an alt. Had I not been wearing 5pc Whitestrake's I wouldn't have been able to beat him.

I did the quest yesterday with my lvl 12 Sorcerer and I did it with my Nightblade level 18 - it works. Use pets as a Sorc or the slow as a NB (and Templar), Root as DK... it works, but prepare yourself to die 5, 6 times.
