So, I was explaining to a guild mate tonight about the logical plan....you know lock in your 70 cp...then get as many characters to level 50 as possible until CS goes live.

Ehm... why would you do this? If you already have your 70 CP guaranteed, you won't gain anything extra from having many level 50's before CS goes live.

The point of that is to have a lot of toons ready to quest in Caldwell's Silver and Gold zones because questing on a Vet toon will be one of the best ways to earn CP. Honestly I've done it myself over the past few months since this was announced and am sitting on 2 VR1s who I've pretty much stopped playing once they hit VR1.
Do you know how much XP it takes to get to 50? I suggest you find out and then see how few CPs you'll get at the 400k XP per CP rate which ZOS confirmed in the ESO Live today is what will be used when 1.6 goes live.
If you seriously have no interest in leveling other races or classes and see alts merely as CP farmers you'll be sadly disappointed at the reality.
Different class has different abilities. Getting those abilities are the reason. With the wide variety of builds per class there is no real need to make alts, which is nice.
jluceyub17_ESO wrote: »They already have an "inspiration" system in place to address this. While you're leveling a character from 1-50 you don't earn CP but you do build up Inspiration which lets you earn CP faster. Inspiration otherwise builds up over time when you aren't playing a Vet Rank Character.
Also the motivation to try different builds is the opportunity to try different builds. This is a game not a job.

About 4 - 5 would be my guess. Times 6-8 characters that's a good 30 or so CP. Those are also easy 1% boosts versus the veteran grinder who's making around a .2% or less of an increase with each additional CP. The diminishing returns are working as intended. The vets are still 3-4% over the new players, but not so far that they can't close the gap a little.Do you know how much XP it takes to get to 50? @Sharee the reason to do this is so playtime spent on any character once 1.6 goes live will earn towards CP, as opposed to that time going to waste while non vet and handicapping yourself. So, I was explaining to a guild mate tonight about the logical plan....you know lock in your 70 cp...then get as many characters to level 50 as possible until CS goes live.

Enlightenment..
So your on your one Character, and you grinded / quested out a Champion point (it takes 400K xp) Whooohooo your now up to 71 CP (because this toon is your favorite VR14 character) and you been using him for the last two days.. but you also have 4 other VR toons..
So you log onto a different VR toon, a VR5, and you haven't been on him for atleast a day or two since you were playing on your VR14, Bam he has "Enlightenment" what cost you doing normal grinding/questing to get a champion point (400k) now only costs this character 100K to get a champion point.. so you play on him and get another champion point.. (acct wide CP now 72) you then log off that night and dream of Tamriel..
You come back to the game the next day and log into another VR character, a VR1, spend the 72 CP you get since you haven't been on him at all for the last two days since you been on the other Toons, and look at that.... he has "Enlightenment" but it is for two days worth, so to get two (2) champion points it will cost 200k, so you play on this one for the day questing and then PvP'ing, you log off for the night after getting your 2 CP (acct wide is now 74 CP)..
the next day you check all your other VR toons, your fav VR14, your VR5, and your obscure VR3 you haven't even looked at, and OMG they have "Enlightenment" on all three, it will only cost you a 100k to get a CP for each of them..
So you pick one of your VR characters who have "Enlightenment" and go into the game, place your new CP on that toon and play..
Welcome to the Champion system..
PS- "Enlightenment" maxes after 3 days, for 3 CP at 100k each, that is the Maximum "Enlightenment" you can achieve..

Pretty sure enlightenment is account based, not character based. That being said, if you are playing on a character that is earning champion points your other characters are not earning enlightenment. Also, when a character spends the enlightenment, it is spent across the account.

That is all I'm saying. Now, if you want to have alts for the alt's sake (for example because you want one of every class) then it absolutely makes sense to get them to 50 so every bit of XP you get goes towards CP.

Maybe you are correct but it didn't seem like that on the PTS, but maybe it was because I just wasn't on the PTS everyday and kept getting "Enlightenment" on my toons..
ZOS_JasonLeavey wrote: »Hey all. Here's some specifics about how Enlightenment works:
You'll receive a pool of XP that you'll gain at an accelerated rate. That amount is 400,000 XP during every 24-hour period. You are able to gain XP at the accelerated rate for up to 3 days worth of time, equaling 1.2 million in XP. This pool of XP can be spent on any of your veteran rank characters.
There should be no way to lose Enlightenment other than earning your allotted XP during that period of time. If you're noticing a loss of Enlightenment after zoning, entering a dungeon, or randomly during your time in-game, and you have not reached that max number of XP, that is not working as designed. We've submitted the reports in this thread to our team, but be sure to continue submitting /bug reports if it continues.
Hopefully this helps to clear up some of your questions.
