Other Faction Starting quests = Cadwells Silver and Gold quests???

Hello all, sorry if this is a re-post but I didn't see anything in the search for my question.

My wife and I are V14's in the AD Faction and have completed the Cadwell Silver and Gold quests for the other two Factions.

We are thinking about trying out new characters but want to change the Faction for them. The question I've been wondering about, is are all the starting quests for EB and DC the exact same quests we've already completed under Cadwells Silver and Gold Quests?

One of the things I dislike about MMO's is the constant repetition of quests for another character you are leveling. Time isn't an issue so we don't need to speed through it. We are hoping for new quests by starting over in a new Faction.

Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    In short, yes.

It's one of those things that has been criticized a lot, for the same reasons you have.

The experience will be slightly different since you will be playing at much lower levels, but yes the quests are exactly the same.

yep and this is why their endgame is fail and the game has very little replay value.

This isn't why the endgame is fail; the endgame is fail because they tiered it so you need to do Cadwell's to be competitive. Cadwell's would be fine as an option for endgame if it weren't for Veteran Ranks. For those who don't create alts, they still want do do all the content; for those who do create alts, they don't want to repeat the content solely to be viable.

What people fail to realize is that the community asked for this during beta. At first there was only going to be levels 1-50, and you were locked out of the other faction's areas and story. The community ranted and raved over this because they wanted to be able to explore the other zones, and experience the other storylines without having to create alts. Thus Vet ranks were born, and 50+, and 50++ ( or gold and silver) questing was born.

Fast forward to now, and we have the community complaining about something that was community driven. Be careful what you wish for.

Oh, I never forgot... It is a very good example of 'be careful what you wish for.'

But I think the biggest issue is how they also added vet ranks and made it more or less a requirement to do the vet zones. If they had implemented a more horizontal system, the complaints would not have been as bad.

Seriously? The community asked for it?

    But... why :(
I'm a man of few words. Any questions?

The community asked to be able to explore other factions lands, as we didn't feel travel should be restricted in a TES game. Many wanted a spy/sabotage questline. Some new home faction content that would allow for exploration in said zones.

ZOS took the concept and simply rehashed the zones with new difficulty and implemented the grindy vet system as a means to have more content for endgame.

    And so, here we are...

Edit: there were also those who wanted to do every quest on one character. Guess they were happy...

Sure the community asked for it, but nobody ever asked for it to be sequential (by which I mean you have to do Silver and Gold before you are viable for Cyrodiil, Craglorn and Trials). What should happen (which I hope will happen when VRs are removed) is that Silver, Gold, Craglorn and Cyrodiil are all viable endgame activities that can be done in any order, or not at all if you don't want to do any of them.

No one asked for this. They asked for a go anywhere do anything you want game where you weren't restricted by anything except the dangers that area would produce. These artificial lines of they implemented so things were extremely linear is basically the direct opposite of what people were clammering for. ES games have always been about open world not linear progression.
I'm kind of a small deal!

I enjoy these quests, personally. But I also do not intend to create alts in different factions.

My wife and I were hoping to experience some new quests by creating alts in different factions. Seems like it's pointless to do so since they are the same quests in the Silver and Gold zones. Thank you all for your replies and comments as they have been very helpful

I imagine that maybe a lot of beta testers were ES players rather than MMO players.
