Keyboard support - Scandinavian letters

Hello!

TL;DR: Fix our letters in game!

This topic has been discussed in several posts before on the "Customer Support" forum but haven't (to my knowledge) been fixed or adressed by the devs (correct me if i'm wrong). So I'll post it here hoping they will at least respond!

Certain characters/letters for Scandinavian keyboards are missing in the game, e.g Å, Ø, Æ etc. This is an major inconvenience and it was first brought up in the beta. I mean BETA! That is ages ago!

Please bump this and spread awareness. It's beyond silly at this point...

EDIT: { So @ZOS_GinaBruno‌, do you guys have an answer for us? =( }

Is there a reason you can't just use an a, e, c, z, or n and have everyone assume what word you meant? Like...If it's close enough, except for one or two letters, I'm sure that the message can be conveyed.

They finally added support for ñ on PTS, that's something.

Exactly. Of course people can make themselfs understood in one way or another, that is not the point. This is a tripple A game and should support the native letters to each contry this game has been shipped to.

also, at least in danish, many words have a completely different meaning if spelled out with o in stead of ø and so on... leaving me to type oe or 0 for ø and aa for å and ae for æ.
it's like playing an mmo in the 19th century.

While it's true it's understandable, some sentences get utterly different meaning when written without proper letters. Its' xxi century.

Often times the use of "special characters" in names can prevent or cause problems with in-game functions like adding a friend, inviting to a group or guild.

Maybe it's something linked to one of those

Æ can be used, actually, but not ø and å

This isn't hard to implement, and should be as soon as possible. It's just a nuisance having to replace several characters when typing.

The main reason that characters like that aren't added is because you can't message or invite players with special characters in their name. More importantly, you can't block/ignore players with special characters in their name.

As far as i know you can't have name with special characters in either accout or character name (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_characters).

Those you are referring to are diacritical signs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritic), and in many languages (Slavic, Germanic, Finno-Ugric) ARE normal letters.

International character sets are demonstrably difficult for ZOS developers to master. English, German and French are supported, and now finally Spanish. Expecting them to ever support Swedish, Danish and Norwegian is probably futile, even though they would only have to add a few more characters (å æ ø).

This is soo typical of many US corporations/governement agencies: as soon as they encounter a language with more letters than the English alphabet they refuse to recognise the differing letters as real.
