Scaling quests, experience

Hey,

So my question is should I wait to do most scalable quests for when I reach level 50? So that I can earn extra champion points? Eg. main quest, mages, fighters? I am level 31 right now through questing mostly and started doing the main quest but realised it might be better to wait if I am going to get champion points

Also, I suppose I have to do some of the quests so can progress through the zones but what about the main ones?

The main zone quests don't scale, so you want to do those close to level (so you get XP from mobs).

You can leave the Main/Fighters'/Mages' Guild quests to when you get to level 50, but you will not be able to move past Coldharbour without finishing the main quest, so it's up to you.

In each zone, there are 4 to 5 "Main Quests" that advance the story for that zone. Some of these do almost require some side quests, but those can be skipped if your paying attention. If these quests are not in the Caldwell Almanac (because you may not have it yet if your not past Coldharbor/Molag Bal) you can find that information online somewhere.

The question that your really asking is how many CPs will you get for completing a quest that you are over leveled for. And, how many points do you get for doing the guild quest lines on level vs scaled later.

You can get a quick answer to this by firing up the PTS and loading both a VR14 Template and a L3 scrub. Spend an hour or so getting the scrub up to L6 or L7 and then you can take both characters through the first quest for each guild and then see for your self if there is any difference in CPs and what that is. Do some side quests and main quests with both the VR14 and the L6/8 character and see what the difference in CPs is going to be.

I have a feeling that it's not going to scale the way you want it to.

But if it does scale the way you want it to, then the power trick will be to do the quests, but never turn one in for completion. This will give you on level Mob Experience, and then the scaled CPs by turning in the quests at a higher level.

Of course this will only work in most side quests, the main quests will still need to have each stage completed (for the most part)

But I have to think that they have thought of this. Although I am leaving content behind on my current character that just got to Coldharbor, and I may roll up another one and have them speed through the zone quests just to have them parked and waiting.

I was mostly talking about the main quest and mages, fighters. The zone quests do not scale yes and I need them to level up to 50 anyway (and I enjoy doing them).
I was just wondering that if I wait to do the main quests until 50 then that would be more efficient in getting experience towards champion points. I mean I don't really want to "waste" the xp even though I kinda just want to do them :)

Load up the PTS and a L3 and a VR14 and find out. You will know as soon as you beat Doshia or find the first set of books.

EDIT, just found out that they are doing a character copy tomorrow (or soon) on the NA PTS. So, roll one on the live server and gear them up so you can have an equipped low level character on the PTS.

Not possible since you can only have 25 quests active at one time

I don't really have the space or time to install the PTS although your idea is a good one :)
