Is the achivement "Learn the Nirnhoned Trait" Broken?

I researched nirnhoned fire staff but didn't get the step research the nirnhoned weapon updated. Anyone else has same issue?

    Has the research completed? I only had to research a weapon to get the dye. It's a lackluster red. Needless to say I was disappointed.

    The research has to complete before you get the achievement.

    Pretty sure have to research both the armor and the weapon to get the achievement.

    Nope. I got the achievement or at least the dye attached before my armor finished however I did have the weapon finished.

    I know, it's terribly hard to pay someone 14K gold to obtain that Dye. Hint, buy any Nirnhoned item from any random Guild Kiosk for around 14K gold and you too can know Nirncrux Red Dye.

    I stocked up on nirncrux when blacksmithing surveys had 100% drop rate, so getting items for research was much cheaper. I regret nothing. Normal drop rates are depressing.

    I spent 4 hours looking around guild stores and the lowest i could find it for was 24k for an inferno staff.

    I have no idea what they were intending with that dye color. Is it supposed to be used on specific pieces? It is atrocious...

    Unless I'm missing something, or you truly want the trait and/or achievement points, I suggest you be in no rush to accomplish this achievement for the dye.

    Holy crap really? I've never paid more than 17K if I just absolutely had to have it right this second, but usually 12-15K. I have a regular guy who can make every single item on various toons, he charges the Stone itself + 2K which isn't bad at all.

    Yeah, there's a couple really high end dyes that are just... weird. Or only look good on certain armors. The one from Truly Legendary looks really weird and derpy half the time, and then you stick it on something like Ancient Elf medium armor and it looks like someone had painted it with a metallic paint in another era, and it's almost all chipped off. Atmoran Bronze does the same thing, only orange, with occasional purple highlights. Motif Master Brown switches randomly between being brown and purple depending on the light, which is kind of a neat effect, if that's what you were going for.

    Same here. I found a reliable nirnhoned crafter in zone chat in Belkarth.
